Thought I'd share this and get some ideas. . .

I periodically check the local auction listings for items of interest, including cabinets for my garage. I've outfitted most of it with lateral file cabinets and large metal cabinets. Saw a generic cabinet on public surplus, no inside photo, with the statement of excellent condition (wrong!).

Put on a bid. . . no one countered, picked this up, including tax, for $2.08.

Finally opened it when I got home and surprised as all get out to see it was a dedicated cabinet made by Doall for bandsaw blades and supplies. The pic below is not mine, but the only other I could find on the web. Mine does not have any blades or parts, but does have the original instruction sheet on how to assemble the cabinet.

Don't have a bandsaw, but would you have any other ideas for this cool cabinet?

Very nice jives!
Does that "BidSpotter" package & ship? Is this the first time you dealt with them and were you satisfied? I'm ready to "bookmark" them but........

Yep, I had one at work I used for close to 30 years. Yours is the only other one I know of. The DoAll saws could also use band files, an interesting device in itself.

Sorry for the confusion. It was not Bid Spotter that I bought it from. It is just the only picture I could find online of the same cabinet. I purchased mine through Public Surplus.

Never heard of a band file, but that makes sense with the current purchase. There is also a diagram of different files taped on the inside of the door that gave some instructions on how to use.

The saw blades from Doall look to come unspliced. Is there a special tool that welds them together?

Many industrial band saws have a blade welder. There is a bit of a trick to do the "annealing" properly, but once you learn you never forget. Maybe newer blade welders are more advanced than the ones I have used.

Blade welders are also available as a stand-alone device.
