This place went up for sale recently. Reminds me of the artwork in the header above.

It was still a gas station/auto repair when I was a kid. By the time I was in college it was a Mtn Bike shop and then later an antique store. Gambling came to Deadwood in 89 and killed retail. Very cool building that would make a fun playhouse.

I make a point of hitting a Sinclair for gas when in Mn. There was one by my house as a kid with the big dinosaur out front. It eventually became a Shell, but the last I remember, "dino" was still there. They had to mount him up in the air after some college kids stole him 10 or 15 years back!

Sinclair is coming on strong around here. Shell and BP left the region. There are 3 large chains, one is Conoco, one is mostly Sinclair and one is all Exxon.

I work in the business now, but I really miss a good old fashioned GAS STATION!

Ive done a couple stints in the oil and gas industry. Its amazing how the industry is structured. There really isn't any loyalty to speak of. Once a contract is up, the station owner shops his station to get the best deal from the major distributors, and the distributors often are after 'new' stations rather than keeping existing.

I would love to own that place, and if it was in a usable area, I would, especially at that price. Unfortunately, the frozen north is a long way from Arizona.

While I was in school in Rapid we used to go up there gambling and drive by that place. It didn't look to be in use then but I thought it would make an awesome man cave! I wish it was closer and I could afford it... Thanks for posting!!

Actually Deadwood gets the most snow but the whole Black Hills area gets 60s and 70s throughout the year. Our cold snaps never last long due to Geography

Great place but I wouldn't want my toys to be on full view of all the passing traffic.

Thats a good point but if you could afford the place you could afford the security. Out area is relatively crime free.

I think it has been empty for several years. I am blown away that it is only 250K? Since Gambling came to Deadwood property prices have went through the roof. If it was closer to downtown it would easily top 500K

Just last year we still had one station that was full service in my small town. It's a repair shop, tire shop, and gas station. They checked your fluids, washed your windows, and pumped your gas for ten cents higher then the self serve station right next to them. Last year the place got flooded and after the clean up it became self serve, but it is owned by the same two guys (brothers) and they still offer full service to the senior citizens if they honk when the pull up. I personally think that is a great service to our elders.
