I'm mostly a lurker but the site has been an invaluable resource for my pole barn's concrete and radiant. Now I'm onto lighting and the topic seems beyond me to get "right"
Is there a simplified method to get to a decent solution instead of the perfect solution or does anyone (like platonic) do pay-for-service lighting builds? I can't scale up or down the layouts I see with confidence.
Lit space: 26x48 after wall thickness. 10' ceilings left/right. 12' ceilings center bay. Back width full shelving (no reflectivity).
Knowns: Happy with the 4' 2 bulb LEDs from "best fixture ever" thread. Seem easy to mount and wire (using conduit). All my benches and tables are about 32".
Concerns - I don't want it TOO bright and the walls are so reflective. I'll never be doing ultra detail work like car painting. Will just be doing normal car maintenance with lights under the cars, and some hobby work with task lighting.
Any way to go about this without having to learn a complex computer program and spending a dozen hours on tweaking it? I'll buy the budget lights and self install. I feel like I've always had terrible light and getting close enough will feel like a huge win.
Thanks in advance for some input.
