FFH new tool line

About a week and half ago, I started a thread in the Hot Deals section about Family, Farm & Home clearancing out their line of Tekton tools. See this link for that thread.

Some employees had alluded to what they would be carrying instead. Those brands included Stanley and Irwin. Well after stopping in the other day, I managed to come across this.

It appears their new tool line up will consist of


Master Mechanic
Channel Lock
Stanley
Nicholson
Grip
Irwin
Bessey

One other brand that I can't read off the paper but it is at both ends of the display lineup. Maybe somebody else can make it out.

Also sounds like Ontario (Mansfield) Ohio will be getting a store in the near future in the old Toys-R-Us store.

According to my local store Tekton has a new CEO. He decided to pull the tools from the stores. The decision to stop selling individual tools and only sell kits. The local store doesn’t need 6 wrench sets of 2” and up. Too bad as it was convenient for us.

Selling individuals is what sets them bar higher over lot of the competition in the middle ground tool arena .
Seems to me companies these days don't want stay in business with some of the brainless retail strategies and lack of simple product innovation/quality ...

Their website says they are a family owned business. I was thinking there was a member here in the business mix.

We are currently expanding both our individual program, and our sets. No leadership changes around here, the relationship with FFH just didn't work out.

Regarding post #5, my nearby Meijer does carry Tekton, but their selection is dismal.

I'm not a part of retail planning but our biggest spread is on our site, www.tekton.com.

Retailer lineups vary, so it's hard to point in a specific direction.

Can you fill us in on the new angle wrenches? I plan on buying a set up to 1-1/4 when they are available. Do you know when that will be? Does Tekton plan to make more/other wrenches domestically?

We should have the sets in stock in the next 4-6 weeks. The notify-me function on the product page will alert you if you'd like.

You should expect to see more domestic wrenches within the next few years. We came up with a few methods that are going to help move this production along.

Stopped by FFH yesterday and checked out the new tool line up since the display is up and running.

All I can say is wow, quite sad indeed. Most of the stuff is Master Mechanic (store brand) and a few scattering of other brands. Maybe 3 different Channellock pliers, 2 sets of Stanley screwdrivers and a dab of Irwin stuff.


Seriously, nothing more than a joke and a bad one at that.
