Air comp fittings

This stuff is certainly basic to some of you...but not me.

Since I can't find certain fittings in town; gonna order online.

So. I thought I'd run by you what should be the last parts needed.

1. At the rubber hose exiting the ball valve at ac, I need a 3/4" fitting (reducing adapter?) to 1/2" fnpt (hose end).

2. End of runs (2, maybe 3) for tools, etc.- air filter then regulator.
A. 3/4 fitting reduces to 1/2 mnpt attaching to air filter;
B. exit filter with a 1/2" straight connector to female of regulator;
C. exit regulator 1/2" mnpt adapter to 1/2" copper pipe;
D. short section of 1/2" copper separating regulator from couplers:
E. 1/2" copper pipe adapter to 1/4" mnpt to couplers.

So. I don't know the proper fitting names etc. and I'm not sure if I've described well. Thanks for any clarifications.

Thinking I would order the fittings from Zoro. Good?

Go to a plumbing supply. I got all my stuff there. No problems. The counter guy will set you up faster than you can describe what you need.

Makes sense what you said- I thought for sure I'd find the stuff local.
Have to get to a "real" plumb supply store.

You can do anything you need to with just couplings and bushings. The bushing is what reduces a female to a lower size female. They don’t make fittings to change size and *** at the same time, so use 2. For something like the filters you screw pipe into that. A short piece of pipe threaded is called a ******.

Not quite.

A bushing has male and female threads, which enables you to reduce/enlarges the pipe being attached to it.

A coupling is female/female, it can be the same size on both ends or it can be used for changing pipe sizes.

Then there is the male/male reducer

Yup but then with the plumbing supply he won’t have to even know what to ask for. Just show the guy a diagram of what he’s doing and let him do the figuring. No point in figuring out anything when he can do it for you and just grab what you need. It just makes the whole thing simpler than grubbing Round figuring everything out. I’ve done lots a that over the years, too much. Keep it simple [emoji847].

I prefer bronze and brass fittings myself. Black iron rusts fast.
