I recently purchased an m12 stubby 1/2" and I'm looking for a little more power. I'm very pleased with the power of the m12 but I'm wanting something I can use on my trailers and 3/4 ton diesel truck. What are your recommendations and preferences?

For lug nuts, the mid torque will be fine. I’ve got the high torque Gen I and the mid torque and i usually grab the mid torque and it takes care of a majority of my needs when working on my skid steer/ excavator and tractors.

That’s it. The mid torque will do just about everything. For things like axle nuts you have to let it hammer noticeably longer than the high torque. I have both and recommend the mid torque first with the caveat that one day you will want the high torque.

If you have rust, get the big one. My 1100 or 1200 ft lbs Milwaukee works 99% of the time but a couple of lug nuts needed a 1" air impact. I got the 1400 lb. one for my dad but I have never used it. The new one is a little shorter, lighter and 4 settings instead of 2.

I dont bother with the mid torque taking off 3/4 ton and up lug nuts. Takes too long compared to the high torque. It seems there are always a few tough ones on old pickups that the mid torque just hammers away and wont loosen.

If your stuff is newer and stored inside the mid torque might work. Its a nice handy size.

Ya bigger trucks or tractor stuff High Torque wins hands down in my book. I seriously do like the mid torque though, and it will handle most routine chores on trailers and light trucks

If you already have the stubby 1/2" m12 you'd be a fool to buy the m18 mid torque over the 2767.

Huge power difference between m12 stubby and m18 mid torque. They pair well together. Hardly foolish.

If you can choose between the top 3 power rated and sized guns why would you pick 2+3 vs 1+3? All 3 have their place(I own them :) )but if you were going to pick two under his circumstances 1+3 hands down

Be interesting to me to see the size difference between the stubby and the mid torque.

High Torque wrench does make a "Mid Torque" seem like a compact :lol_hitti

The mid torque is awesome for just about anything non hd. It’s effectively 3 times more power than the m12 stubby. It’s my most used gun of the 4 Milwaukee’s I have. That said I have the 2767 as well and it is a beast. It will definitely get most fasteners moving, but it is rather heavy for repeated uses. Unless you need all that power, the mid torque will do you well

I also own them all and 1 and 2 did all the work the last couple weeks. 3 was used once. If I could choose only two it would be stubby, mid torque, and my breaker bar.

Here you go. The stubby is much shorter, but as the last picture shows it’s still kind of fat.

Unless I were working on farm equipment or larger than 3/4 ton trucks, I couldn’t see a need for owning the high torque impact. For my purposes (diy on 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks) I went with the mid torque and have been very impressed.

Thanks for the photos.

I so prefer the handle placement and slim compact battery when using M12 pistol grip tools. The older 2454 has always been a favorite of mine. And I figure an M12 stubby will eventually replace my M18 compacts. I did get the Mid Torque early this year. Its truly no much bigger than the older M18 compacts IMO. I have been using a Gen 1 2655B for the longest time. I do have 2754 but I rarely use it. Was an impulse purchase on $99 sale (bare tool) :lol_hitti

Still the M12 Stubby's size and power increase over the original M18 compacts looks pretty intriguing. Cant wait to use one. Still deciding which anvil to get. :headscrat

On several jobs my compact just barely fit, one a R&R of rototiller tines, 96 9/16" nuts and bolts combos, did get the job done but barely had enough power to grind off all those old nuts torqued to close 100ft lbs they all were.

Same with a bumper removal on an old truck one time, the high Torque was just way too big and the compact couldn't budge them.

For me I wouldn't be without a High Torque though.

I was dismantling and old hay wagon a couple of months ago and I would have thought the Mid Torque would have easily done the job but it didn't cut it on several of the rusted on 1/2" fasteners. My Gen 1 HT easily took care of them though but surprisingly it also died on the job that day :wtf:, had to get sent out for warranty service, was 4 years old (they eventually replaced circuit board controls @ NC for me.

Same thing replacing a pintle hitch on old dump truck. The original 2655B compact couldn't budge the mounting bolts and only got one, the High Torque did get the rest broke one right off  Maybe the Mid torque would have been just right who knows

My 2767 wouldn't remove brand new bolts that we're torqued to 250 ft/lbs today. The gun is maybe 3 months old and rarely gets used.
