We've just moved in our new place, and I've finally got a garage. A very swish one, thanks to the previous owner using it as a music studio, insulated plaster boarded walls, insulated oak flooring, even some skirting board, almost abit to fancy for a garage :wtf:.

Been after some storage for a while, had multiple Snap on boxes, inc some KRL's and a Epiq Mr big. They are great for shop environment, but I don't need anything on wheels, or anything as bling, and would rather maximise the storage space to floor space.

A bit of internet shopping later, two lista boxes ordered, 200kg slides all round. 100" width of storage for just short of £3500, a bargain compared to Snap on.

8 weeks later and they arrived, slightly annoyed that the delivery driver dragged a pallet over the top of the boxes, ripping some paint off :shocking: Was given the option of waiting 8 weeks for a new box, or £250 off and some paint, seeing as the top was being covered anyhow, £250 off it is

The stainless worktop came from a industrial kitchen supplier, £400 delivered, again compared to Snap on prices, win win!

The hardest part was draw liners, being spoilt with Krl liners for years, I wanted something similar, which turns out, is quite hard! Raptor grab I tired, but the shipping costs were about 5 times the price of the product. Much searching later, and I went with these.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000VHXEJ6/?tag=atomicindustr-21

Nice a grippy, very similar to Krl liners, almost the same :)

Anyway time for some photos (please excuse the paint of the walls, on going project), Now its all semi organised, still some empty drawers and the spanners need to be laid out more efficiently.

Wow, just amazing how much tools you can organize into for two boxes of 100" wide and 40" tall.

How many SO boxes did those tools came out of?

listas are a better box than snap on, and at a better price. You won't see any snap ons used for tooling storage or heavy items in an industrial shop. The snap on sheep should look a little closer at listas, they are built like a tank.

I know of a shop that uses them to store brake rotors and pads- the drawers slide like nothing is in them.

In the last 3 weeks I've got my new Lista box from American Workspace.

I'm loving it, though it's nowhere near as full as the OP.

Big side metric, small side Imperial?

Yes correct, don't really use imperial in the UK, a lot of it is left over from when you could have your own tools in aviation, now its all company supplied, due to the FOD hazard.

I've had a lot of SO boxes, but the last ones I had were a KRL1022 and KRL1023 togther.

Some reason a lot of guys don't like the idea, probably because you can't by lista for 'X' amount a week. I have some older lista boxes which are built ever sturdier than these new box's, shame the new ones have gone down in quality slightly.

Very nice, what models are those?

They are the 1193mm and 1431mm wide models, 1000mm high, 725mm deep. Custom drawer config which is quite common when ordering apparently, essentially I didn't need any drawers deeper than 6", 2" and 3" drawers are very useful to me, the 8" plus drawers on most tool cabinets are a waste of space I find, as items requiring that size of drawer can live in a locker/cabinet instead.

There's a trend in dealership to make their shop a uniformed and organized shop, using Lista boxes, for showcase to customers. It makes the shop look dramatically different than ones w/ different 50 tool boxes with different dimensions and colors - a damn disorganized shop-looking.

I have current generation and previous generation Lista boxes and the NEWER is a lot better. The drawer slide performs better, super quiet.

Question for OP--How has this set up been working out with the box directly on the ground and no toe kick?

Very nice Lista cabinets, a nice neat look and plenty of storage space. I like how there are many shallow drawers, most regular tool boxes will have half shallow and half deep so you end up with tools piled up on top of each other in the deep drawers.

However, I noticed greasy fingerprints on a few of the plastic cases in there...you better take care of that. ;)

Fancy parting with a few? Still allowed to use my own tools :)
Really liked your teal box, what happened to that?

It was a thought, but the box's are at a perfect height, and no toe room/kick plate hasn't been an issue. Extra room for tools

Ill make a note for the cleaner :bounce:

Took me along time to build them up, so I'll be keeping them unfortunately. Still got the teal box, but my dad uses it, I love the teal colour, but quite hard to buy the larger KRL/EQIP roll cabs in teal here :(
