Picked up an old wood/coal stove from my dad that used to heat his garage and my grandfathers garage before that.

Gonna do a little maintenance on it first before installing it.

If anyone has ever used one of these I have a question. See picture 3 below. Also having trouble finding an oval to round adapter. Any suggestions.

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
Those are fairly commonplace on older stoves... If you didn't get the one with the stove, you can do what we did, and have a sheet metal guy fab one to go from our old school Monarch cookstove to a modern doublewall flue.

I'd be somewhat worried about the cracked casting... only because I'm kinda **** about stuff like that. but yeah, a good stove shop or sheet metal guy should be able to set you up.

I don’t think the casting is cracked. It seems to be multiple pieces that bolt together. It seems too uniform and identical on both sides to be cracked. Could be wrong. There is cement between them that I need to replace.

The last one of those, just a piece of 6" duct squished oval fit the stove outlet. That was about 40 years ago that I had to do one, so lots of luck.

Milton is correct. I squeezed a piece of 8"x 12" to make the oval to round. I think the longer the pipe, the easier it is to do. You may have to pick up an oval90 or tee depending upon your positioning of the stove.

Finally got my tractor back from the dealership after 10 weeks while they installed the hydraulics for my snowblower. Got the stove installed and tested. Was able to raise garage temp 20° within 30 mins so I’m pretty happy with it.

Will be doing full restoration on it in the spring.
