My old Matco Electronic torque wrench finally died, so I had to find a replacement.
Found this locally for $300 with only 37 cycles on it.
Good price. I need a new one but most on eBay are $400 plus and no better at any of the local pawn shops who price on par with ebay
Bough my first S/O tools off the truck today. Just a college kid working on stuff part time and my own stuff, but I hope these are worth it considering I keep bending snap-off (Harbor Freight) picks. I wanted green, I love green and try to get everything I can in that color. But he had red today and I'll need them Wednesday.
Another tool comes tomorrow. It's kind of mundane but I'm excited about it.

I'll be buying that set next time its on promo. I have two sets of their mini picks and they're awesome. But that longer set would have made replacing a power door lock assembly a few days ago faster and easier.

There’s very few times I’m around for the trucks, so I never get the deals. I’m never in the shop in the summer and fall, and in winter there’s only a slim chance I’m there on a Monday afternoon, usually I’m in class or off on some job or parts excursion. I need to build a better relationship with the dealers so I can have some notice on the deals or specials.
I will let you know on how they work. I only have the minis from HF and I had to get creative to get at some retaining clips on the last job I did so I made sure to pick these up. if they perform as well as I hope I’ll have him order the shorties in green next week.
He also has the super long full size instinct grip picks but I don’t know how often I’d use them. My solution for most products has been to buy the tool from HF and if/when I break it, replace it with the expensive one.

I love my SO mini pics. I tried the Ullmans first and they're what you would expect for what you pay. They're threaded into the handle so any time you twist, you typically just spin the pic loose. The handle diameter is also very small, so they're not very ergonomic and hard to get a good grip on.

Ordered a vacuum coolant filler on this truck this morning. Also ended up getting the radiator hose 2 pc set and 3" inspection mirror.
This also came in the mail. A new miller headband for my digital elite that I purchased when I worked as a welder at a ship yard. It must be ~9ish years old now. Helped pay for my college education. It's pretty beat up since 90% of the welding was done with 7018 rods in a pretty harsh environment. Brought it out of storage to start putting together my weld table for the garage. I think I posted the dimensions for the top here a month or two ago, but the top I ended up going with is a 60"x30"2.25" blanchard ground plate from work. Still need to drill and tap fixture holes. I'll make a build thread for it when I'm ready.

I didn't realize there was a newer headband style, thanks for pointing that out.
Is it a worthy upgrade? Mine still works fine (looks like your old one), but they're cheap enough that I may get one anyway if it seems worth it.

My biggest complaint was the generic headband was it never really sat well on my head, so I would have to crank the headband tight to get it to stay. Would constantly fiddle with it as my head got sore. This headband was $31 shipped through Amazon. I've only tried it on to adjust it, and haven't had it on my head for 8+ hours at a time, but can already tell it will be a lot more comfortable. Didn't need to make it so tight to stay in place and the wider bands/cushions means less pressure points.
It's definitely a worth while upgrade in my opinion. PPE is something I'd never hesitate to spend on. The generic head band was something like $15, so for a little more you're getting a huge improvement.

Some stubby 1/8” clecos, hole finders, bonding brush, flush rivet set. I do a lot more plug welding than riveting but the same tools are used.

Assenmacher Adapter for SO vacuum coolant filler & Porsche/VAG vehicles. Fits perfectly on the 911's coolant expansion tank. Changing these tanks are a major PITA. The AST tool fits perfectly, as expected. Doing a bunch of PM this weekend.

I'm not sure. Used it this weekend to empty a coolant expansion tank before replacing it. CTA's website doesn't mention gasoline, and the application chart is blank.

I have the same one. Yes you can use it on gasoline. We use it all the time for that purpose.
Seems like a really interesting combo. Using 1/4" stuff on that big of a gun seems unlikely. 1/4" seems more well suited in a 12v application where the gun is small and light weight.

That gun is amazing. Loctite those grub screws in, they come flying out of there after a few uses.

They are Jolly Ranchers, our office staff is the best! There's tootsie pops behind the jug too, and there is also other candy and cookies and donuts occasionally.
It's a Lubrication Engineers Xpel container, and I ordered it, along with 5 gallons of oil for my truck from Elite Lubrication Specialties
Mine's the 5 quart/liter model. they make them in 1.5, 2, 3, 5, and 10 quart/liter bottles and a bunch of different lids for different applications. This style, is pretty versatile, and they have extensions for it if you need to reach further than you can with just the nozzle.

I do pre-winter and pre-summer inspections on the six vehicles I maintain. This essentially eliminates "need them right now" parts. While I prefer OEM parts, they're NLA for the older vehicles.

Advance: $280.46, using coupon. Does not have the arms in stock.
Throw in a few consumables, like light bulbs and wipers, and the savings for the same parts becomes pretty substantial. It's like getting free Snap-on.

The dent in my forehead is what's left of a scar from ~35 years ago when the tip of a punch grenaded and hit me about 3" above my left eye. A chunk of steel about the size of a .22 slug hit me there and stuck next to my skull.
After a couple of days of it getting sorer and not healing, I took my pocketknife and started probing around and felt the knife hit the steel.
I squeezed it like a big zit until the chunk of metal popped out and hit the floor. I kept it taped inside my toolbox lid for many years.
Not sure I'm still tough enough to do that again.
