For those of you that have the combo top and bottom box, whats the total height with the lid closed? I saw the dimensions in the specs but dont know if they include the casters in the height or not.

Seriously considering stopping my my local Napa to check prices on these.

Just measured it...61 inches

Looks sweet!

Thinking of getting the 54” to put new to my 72” as well. Thinking of making a frame and seeing if I can buy another set of swivel casters from Homak. Goin full diy epiq120. Would make it 5 banks 10.5’ long full length stainless top on 6 swivel casters, maybe 8 to play it safe. [emoji848]

I like that idea.....Might have to look into that myself
Edit: I’ve also thought about making a wood frame just in the floor to set them on and lose the casters. Once my floor is done the boxes won’t be moving.

Still transitioning to the new box, been busy. I always use cleaning up and organizing as winter projects. Got to get impact sockets, and the smaller torx sets in this drawer and get the double out in a storage box. All the other drawers are still a wreck, but I said before I’d post pics. The drawer still opens with just a pinky at any location across the front. Love this box.

Thanks. Yeah according to the Homak site the casters on the 54 and 72 are the same. The 41 and smaller have smaller casters.

All wiped down and started to get my organizers in place. Got my heaters setup for winter. I use that power strip every time I’m in the garage, love it.

Took a trip to a nearby NAPA last week to check out the RS Pro in person. They had a 72" and 41" stack in stock. I was informed that the 41" has had some sort of minor change and the previous version, which was what my NAPA had in stock, was now reduced to $944.44 from $1099. He checked the warehouses around the Midwest and at that time all colors were still available. Salesman did not know what the difference between the old and new version was but thought that it was a minor change to deal with the tariffs.

I thought that was a pretty good deal and I would have ordered one on the spot but I simply don't have room for that much toolbox.

Thought I'd pass the info along in case someone is sitting on the fence.

Putting my plumbing tools down and rolling back into a shop. Anyone who owns one of these able to comment on how they've held up or how they foresee them holding up? I'm looking at used snap on boxes but need the box to be either black or orange (I guess its not a need, but the owner would strongly prefer) and I kinda think I want to just buy the orange homak 72 instead. More box than the 56" snap ons, and for less money. Any insight?

I can't say because my box is at home, but I had a 52" double bank, 22" deep Husky that was Canadian made with 100lb drawer slides, 5" casters, and butcher block top. That box was used in an industrial shop with rail tracks and each aisle of the plant had a ramp and usually a drain near the ramp. It weighed about 800-1000lbs loaded with the vise on it and I used it for 4 years before selling it and to my knowledge it is holding up fine, about 6 years of services so far. That box is thinner materials, weaker casters, lower grade drawer slides, and it held up fine with about 300 yards of travel through the plant each week on average. But I don't beat on stuff I spend my money on and I lube my drawer slides twice a year. With that being said, I think these Homak boxes are about on par with Snap On Classic series and at least the Mac boxes I've put my hands on in industry. Far superior of the US General or Husky stuff out now. I used a first series 5 drawer US General cart for about 2 years before leaving my old job and sold it before I left, it worked good but doesn't even come close to how the Homak feels. It isn't a Matco 6S or an Epiq, but I like mine a lot and would not hesitate to use it if I needed to back in an industrial shop. For a background the shop repaired commercial power plant generators, big tools, heavy parts, more things got moved by cranes than by hand.

Its how one takes care of their stuff just as much as the construction of the box. If you are a silver hand socket on impact and drag your box over train tracks with a forklift kind of guy I don't think anybody makes a box that will last for you, but if your a lube your drawer slides annually and wipe your box down weekly kind of guy its surprising how well things hold up.

Yah I'd be looking to buy the classic78 I think, and while I know its a great box, the homak boxes looked amazing and the price of the box is very attractive. I definitely am the type of guy who wipes down my box and my tools, its a 5 bay shop so it can't roll that far! I've reached out to a relative who works at napa and going to see when he can get the box in, need it by the first of the year

You will not be disappointed at all. I have the 72 combo and the 54 with stainless top. I think they are well worth the money and I’m pleased with the quality. I don’t see why they won’t last a lifetime.
I was looking at used Mac and Snap On, but you can’t beat the amount of box you get for the money.

No dice for me, my local store wants almost $800 in shipping to get on here.

That’s crazy! My NAPA here waiting for a freight so I could get free shipping. (one of the reasons I had to wait 6 weeks) they also offered to split the shipping if I didn’t want to wait. Can’t believe they want that much for shipping....

Maybe they need to recheck with their warehouse because unless you want something faster than stock order items are always just added to freight free shipments to the end user at my three suppliers. I understand the warehouse may never stock them but most companies I deal with just add items to normal stock orders that qualify for free freight and just add it to them and it just shows up on their schedule not mine when I can wait.

Anybody try any stainless cleaners on the tops yet? Stainless appliance cleaner should be fine, I think?

I emailed Homak about the side cabs and lockers, and the response was that they should be in stock by the beginning of the year. First quarter for sure. Just FYI.

The napas near me claim they cannot get them in without ordering a whole batch of them (At least 8) so....not sure what to do now. I need a box by the first of the year and craigslist near me has nothing appealing for used Snap on Boxes. Call a few more napas? Order from Homak Directly? Extreme tools? Ugh I really wanted one of these!

Edit: Looks like Homak can Deliver it to me, but the boxes listed on their website are like 600 dollars more expensive than through napa =/

I just posted in the HOT Deals thread, Homak has good discounts on some of their boxes direct from their website with Free shipping too...

Edit: Just noticed that Yarpo posted above that they are cheaper at Napa.

Hey thanks for the heads up! After posting this I actually stumbled upon their weekly deals page! The 56 is only about 100 dollars more on sale through them than napa, think I'm going to buy it if I strike out with one more napa near me, calling them now lol. It's weird tho, they still have the same box listed at full price elsewhere and that's the price I was seeing. Kinda ******. Hopefully nobody ends up buying the ful price box when on sale...

Now to decide on 72 or 56...

IDK guys, really depends on the OP's needs. 72" great for bench space but the 54" combo has more storage capacity with a smaller footprint. And they're both the same money at $1599.
