Angle grinder finish remover

Was at Lowe’s earlier and walked past this in the paint department.

I stripped my garage down to bare wood a few years ago using a planer and flap wheels on my angle grinder. Worked pretty well, but was pretty slow going. Can’t see that this wouldn’t also be slow, but curious to know if anyone has tried one.

I wondered about that too. The blades are mounted to a plate on an angle slanted away from the direction of rotation. I guess that would make it hard for them to dig in and gouge the surface.

What would be the advantages of this over a flap wheel? Longevity? Smoother surface finish?

Flap wheels load up and become useless very quickly. They also can dig in and ruin the surface.

I used a power washer the last couple of times I did it. That took off most of it.

I did the same, got the dust shield/vacuum attachment as well. I have not yet used it but I do have the perfect place to try it.

That looks like it will be used in chipping wood not making is smooth.

OR
time to bust out the welders and make a fixture to hold the grinder while standing up
