Want to isolate one bay in my shop to control dust and debris from messing up the pretty parts of my shop.

I have found a few companies that offer floor to ceiling fabric "curtains" that slide on a track mounted to the ceiling. Any of you nice folks using one of these "systems" ?

It will separate the the shop where the floor paint terminates. you can see the ceiling in the other picture

Thanks for helping.

Goff’s’ is what most people use for mail order. My paint company is who I buy from, but this is more of an ease of service. I just write the check, let them handle and install.

I bought hospital curtain track off eBay. I then used 10x10 canvas drop cloths from Harbor Freight as a temp curtain until i figured out what I wanted to do. I ended up using a curtain by Akon from http://www.curtain-and-divider.com/. The plastic sheet curtains are heavy. You could probably use bed sheets as curtains as well for temp dividers until you know what you want. I got heavy duty 18oz fire retardant poly 9x28 curtain, $327 shipped. That was 4 years ago. I didn't want see through since I have a game room on one side of my shop, I didn't want my kids friends (or strangers) seeing what was on the other side of the curtain. I left the top part clear for letting light in.

I have sent three e-mails to Goff, never heard back. Ordered from TMI today.

I got some really good deals on curtains and track made by Singer Safety which were being sold for pennies on the dollar at Amazon Warehouse

A couple of the panels where like these with a window and some were solid. It looks like Amazon is not selling them anymore but here is a link

So the new partition curtain is up

Pretty simple and done in a few hours start to finish

Received a big box and opened it up. Spread the curtain out on the ground to let it relax from being folded up inside the box.

Then figured out the track and assembled all the clips and put the track up

used a long pole that we held the track in position so it would be the exact same height off the floor along its entire run.

Hung and enjoying the separation.

I have a small garage (interior = 22x32) and I like to use the back half for wood working. WIll these curtains keep the dust off of the cars parked in the front half of the garage? I am not expecting perfection as my cars are daily drivers and I have some dust collection tools in place (all powered by a large shop vac). but my table saw and miter saw throw saw dust into the air that ends up on the tops of the cars and up to this point the only solution I have is to pull the cars out onto the driveway every time I want to do wood cutting and that isn't practical.

Dust control is the reason we did this. Sanding body filler and primer next to finished show cars can be a tad frustrating.

This system has not failed to deliver. It allows us to have a clean shop just a few inches away from a basic dust manufacturing facility.

thanks; just out of curiosity, what do the curtains cost? I think the 24' wide 8' long quick ship would be the one that I need.

Did you buy it directly from TMI or did you get it from a 3rd party?

Thanks
