Picked up a well used Craftsman top and middle chest today and build me a grand Taumac style stack for my drill press tooling!

Then I came to my senses and realized that I did not need quite that much storage space for the drill press stuff. Back to reality...

Am coming to appreciate middle chests more. I'm short, so the top compartments in top chests mounted high are useless space to me because I can not see down into them. This is a problem with my new HF 26" stack. I suppose another option is to stack two bottom chests if a pair that will fit together can be found.

Hit a few sales yesterday and today...

Yesterday found a well beat Craftsman non-ball bearing set for $50. Had to do some work on a number of the drawer slide supports to make them work OK. But it fits under the work bench and is for stuff that does not get used often, so NBD.

Found a nicer, Craftsman ball bearing slide chest today, again $50. No casters and 4" of the side/back walls of one back corner have been chopped of at some point, no doubt to make it fit somewhere. No casters was fine as I wanted it to fit under a workbench. Cleaned it and its foam drawer liners up and loaded it up. With these two chests I hereby declare that my chest hunting days are over! No place to put any more. Only upgrades from now on...:D

Nice finds for some extra storage. I'm still trying to figure out why someone would cut 4in off a toolbox?

Its a 45 degree cut across one corner. Only the cabinet is cut and its a nice clean cut. The slides are unaffected and stick out of the cut a little bit. Just another one of those "old guy" mysteries. I'm sure there are a few of them in your garage...
