I picked up the same unit/different brand from HD a couple years back on clearance (~$7), and I haven't been able to use it like I really intended. I wanted to use it in our riding lawn mower, but the tube was too big for the dipstick hole. After I was done, I think I figured the hose could have connected to the drain port, and may have still helped out that way.

at least 22 other states and they are all at full price. Why do you suppose this would only be available in a single state at this price and not any other?

Could be number of reasons, but since we don't even know from your lack of details whether the item is bigger than a breadbox or animal, vegetable or mineral anything is a wild guess. For example, your state might have enacted an environmental or safety regulation what will make it illegal to sell that item in the future. Or the manufacturer may have entered into an exclusive sale agreement with another retailer for your state and they have dumped Lowes. Or Lowes entered into an exclusive sales agreement with a competing manufacturer that requires Lowes to dump the competing inventory before stocking the new manufacturer's products. Or the Lowes manager for your state region does not like the color of your item.

What type of item is it? If its a light bulb for example, they are cheaper in some areas due to the electric company in the area subsidizing the cost.

I picked up a Lowes 6ft mantle / floating shelf that had been around $160 for $25. The crazy part was that it was in the furniture clearance area of a Walmart! This particular Walmart is next door to a Lowes location. Apparently, about 6 months ago they delivered this special order mantle to Walmart instead of Lowes and I found it in the clearance section. It still had the Lowes shipping label. It was a little difficult to get a price (since Walmart never carried it) but finally a manager gave me a price. He said, 'if it's in my store... it's mine" and gave me a price.

That store has decided not to carry that item anymore. I don’t know about Lowe’s, but this is pretty common at HD. I got my Summit grill half price because one store did this and about 15 surrounding stores were still full price.

Right side of the screen on a desktop. It looks like you are on a mobile phone though, so I'm not exactly sure after they redesigned the checkout layout.

Yep, many stores seem to be clearing out their 'pet' line. I picked up a couple of the wireless dog fences back during the big clearance sale. I suspect it's your store or market that chose to clear them out.

the funny thing is it is very cyclical. I bought an underground fence kit 3yrs ago when my store stopped carrying them and then they brought them back, only to clear them out again. Timing is everything

It looks like Lowe's has a 300 ct GE set on sale, before any of the extra discounts already mentioned in here (or the 15% rebate thread)

On Sat/Sun, Target has $25 off $75 in Christmas lights (and more). They carry Philips lights, and aren't on sale this week (Sat), but there is the possibility they are on Sunday. In past years they had a 50% & 40% (last year) off through their Cartwheel offers in the Target app, but don't recall when they occurred in the season
