Ordered two ladders on separate orders from Texas last night. Ordered 1 ladder from De this morning. All 3 have been charged to my CC but all are just showing “In Process” on my account page. I don’t think mine will be delivered

Online orders using "parcel shipping" doesn't matter which store you order from, it never goes there. The system automatically routes the order to the main designated shipping store for your region, or if they don't have any quantity in stock it goes in queue till a store can fulfill it (or it gets cancelled).

Seems a rather round-about way, but that's just how their system works.

My ladder order shipped. I'm surprised because I was a bit late to the party, and it was apparently posted on SD. Good luck to all others who ordered!

It's funny, when I try and log into my account on IE, Chrome, and on my phone it gives me an error "currently unable to handle this request" "HTTP ERROR 500"

Is anyone else getting this?

Just got an email from Lowe's, this is a new one... Normally they never email me a cancellation email...

The Werner Mtiaa Aluminum 18-ft Reach Telescoping Multi-Position Ladder (Item #:951981) you ordered on Lowes.com was incorrectly priced; therefore, your order for this item will be canceled and any charges for this item will be refunded to the original form of payment.

We apologize for this inconvenience. If you have questions regarding your order, please contact us at the number below.

Oh well... My fault for hesitating and not order yesterday.

Well I'm not sure what's gonna happen with this ladder order.

Earlier I got an email stating order on its way. With Fedex tracking # about an hour ago.

Now I just received an email a minute ago with the following:

I received 3 of the “Item was incorrectly priced and order will be canceled” emails.
Wish I would have seen the deal earlier as it looks like the early orders are getting filled.

A tracking number only means a label was created, not necessarily picked up yet. If you send something yourself thru any carrier online, you will have a tracking # you can send the recipient, but it is still in your possession.

Strange, I also got a cancellation email but FedEx just emailed me saying they received the ladder and it left it's location in Connecticut.

It's unlikely anyone will receive these ladders. Even if fedex or UPS shows it as received, in transit, and having left the originating location, they probably have not been shipped or moved.

Had that experience with business shipments - fedex and UPS show it at the hub across the country, I have service guys on-site and wanted to send them down to pick up the part. After a lot of discussion, fedex and UPS will admit that the tracking automatically updates based on the time commitment, and the parts they showed on the West coast were actually still on the East coast.

I will let you all know how this turns out. Some cancelled and some are moving. Still waiting on my cut off tool from august that they said would be here last week.

Just drove by my Fed Ex location and saw a Lowe’s trailer being RE-LOADED with ladders to be taken back to Lowe’s. :lol_hitti

SERIOUSLY...... I don’t know how Lowe’s can cancel something that is at a Fed Ex location waiting for delivery.

I wonder if this is how they can cancel it after it's already at the FedEx facility, my FedEx tracking information shows this entry after FedEx picked it up earlier in the day:

Shipment exception
Barcode label unreadable and replaced

Perhaps they issue a new label to have it re-routed back to Lowes?

I can't imagine how much money they must waste sending all these to FedEx locations only to have them repacked up and restocked

Probably not as much as they would have lost of they actually sold them all at the "wrong" price

It is very easy to recall YOUR Fed Ex shipment...... Just look up the tracking number then hit RECALL and they will hold it at the Fed Ex location for you to pick it up, they will NOT deliver it.
This SNAFU will embarrass Lowe’s management but their stock holders will love it that they caught the mistake...... Hopefully by placing your order will not come back to haunt you and be hit with the "Lowe’s ban hammer"

I get them banning people who flood their servers for pricing, but ordering something at a great price shouldn't get anyone a ban.

While I did receive emails saying my orders were cancelled, the one I received a FedEx shipping notice on earlier, just sent an update saying it was in transit. I won't believe it until I step on the first rung. Their order fulfillment algorithm didn't so hot here, and shipping mine from Florida to Michigan.

Even if some ladders are accidentally delivered, they are likely to require customers to return it or pay the correct price. They (and other vendors) have done this before, and the customer agreed to "correct errors" in the T&C when the order was placed.

That is illegal in many states, I highly doubt they would even risk the bad publicity.

Not true at all. The T&C (Terms & Conditions) have no such clause, and even if it did, it would be illegal to enforce as they are subject to each states consumer protection laws, almost all of which say if they shipped it and charged the card, they accepted the order and are obligated to take that price.

In fact, if you read the entire T&C, and have a rudimentary knowledge of the law, anyone whose ladder actually was charged and then shipped and made it to the carriers site, can file a dispute to get the ladder. The T&C require you go to arbitration, which is bound by your states consumer protection laws, not Lowes policy. If you can prove the screen capture price; show your card as charged and provide tracing details from the shipper, you have a case and Lowes will likely not spend the money/time of in-house counsel ($150-200 an hour) plus pay arbitrator fees ($350 plus) to save $150.

Yes, until the ladder is delivered to your front door, Lowe's can "recall" the shipment at any time.

This is not the first "popular" item that has been recalled in-transit from Lowe's...

Be sure to keep an eye on your CC to make sure they indeed don't charge you. Lowe's did a pre-auth of $1 on my account, but never charged the actual item (which they typically don't do until the shipping label is created).

Is that why my lowes is all jacked up? When You go to purchases it gives a HTTP 500 error. Got one ladder so far. Thanks for the heads up. It was the $30 one. model 251378 300 pound still not bad for $30.00

I was told that IT is aware of the error and also suggested that I try another browser. I did that, and I just get a blank screen on Safari.

I didn't order one but if I had and received it and then Lowe's tried to charge me more I would just dispute the chargers with my credit card company based on the price charged on my receipt at time of ordering. 99.9% of the time your credit card is always going to side with you.

There are specific requirements to dispute a charge, you may want to read the Fair Credit Billing Act for details. Basically no chance of winning a dispute in a case like this, since you agreed to allow them to correct errors when you placed the order.

FWIW, the last several times Lowes has done this, some people have attempted to dispute the charge but lost the dispute. In at least one case, when the person refused to return the item or pay the correct price, they were charged with theft.

Just sharing the facts so everyone can make informed choices.

I think you’re being overly paranoid. 99.9% of the time the item is shipped and nothing more is said about it.

yes I doubt lowes would risk the bad pr going after the few that made it out, I can just see the headlines now "lowes trying to have me arrested for placing an online order" it'd be about as bad as united airlines

Trolls gotta troll. Thanks for the cheap ladder, used it today with some cheap romex and a cheap light fixture.

I'm sure after I post this there will be a Lowe's employee and the FBI knocking at my door.
