Picked this up at a local pawn shop for $30.00, took it outside and hooked it up to my compressor on my truck, and the damn thing almost ripped out of my hand...

Those old IM31's are bulletproof. They are not the most powerful compared to the new models that are on the market but for $30 you got a deal.

I had the IM31 for a couple years. It was reliable but I never was impressed with the power. I traded it when they changed the color to red and never looked back. For $30 you couldn't go wrong.

Earned my living with an IM31 for awhile, it was as good as I'd used at that time... which was 20 yrs ago. Needless to say there are more powerful tools now, but it was nothing to sneeze at. I still have it.

Nah Ive never been to that Pawn Shop, too much BS for me to go down there. Chum-Lee seems like a Mikey from Orange County Choppers, it seems to "Staged" for anyone to be that much of a bone-head. Just my honest opinion. BTW Thank you all for the You *****, I appreciate it.:bounce:

So Snap On's 325 ft lb is like a had ratchet to IR's 280 ft lb. Give me a break.

That snap on 3/8 makes 135 max ft lbs. of torque so ya my IR makes more than double that. You should probably look up the numbers. I had both guns and I'm telling you it's night and day. I couldn't even take off exhaust nuts with the SO gun and the IR whiz's them off like it's nothing. I have to turn it down because it likes to break studs.

That is a definite YOU **** deal. Even if you don't like that SO gun, $30 bucks from a pawn shop is a major victory.

How this IM31. Is it still worth $72?

I tested it on lug nuts torqued at 90 ft-lbs and it seems to do well.
