So today i fired up the new compressor for the break-in everything seemed to be working as it should only thing i noticed was the belt seemed to have a lot of movement so i was looking it over and it seems like the motor shaft isn’t sitting perfectly aligned with the compressor wheel, hard to get a good pic with the cover on but hopefully you guys can see what I’m talking about, I’m no rocket scientist but i would thing you would want both of the shaft wheels to be level with each other. Just me? Anyone else noticed this with there units? Tshould i just unbolt it and try to get it aligned with some spacers? Exchange it? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

That's some pretty significant misalignment. It probably won't cause any issues other than some premature belt wear but I would personally call up the store and explain the situation

Do you think the ding dongs that work in the store would even understand what he would be trying to explain to them? They'd just tell him to bring it back and exchange it

Is there any adjustment on the pulleys or motor mount? And is it angled too or is that just the picture?

It could use a little work. Moving the motor pulley in might help some. Reverse clamp for tension.

Thanks that’s what i was kinda after before i mess with it I’ll contact the store

Didn’t really see any way to adjust it since the motor is simply bolted to the frame, only way i can think is to put spacers on the bottom of the motor to raise the shaft end up to where it needs to be so it’s alined.

Thanks worse case scenario this is what i am going to do.

Is the motor pulley all the way on the shaft? The face of the pulley does not appear to be perpendicular to the shaft.

I would think you could easily shim the pulley side of the motor up with some washers to bring the shafts parallel, then adjust the pulleys to line up if necessary.
