I ordered this a few weeks ago, but didn't mention it until it showed up, incase it didn't work. but it did.

this hutch was around 500$ at sears (and everywhere else I looked) forever. then, I noticed it dropped, substantially, in price.

with free shipping, not available in stores. the invoice lists 198$ in shipping, and then deletes it.

no wonder they went bankrupt.

while I have not opened the box yet, I am pretty sure it is what I ordered:

so, quite a deal. it is my belief that it will fit neatly on top of the KR1000 I bought last year. we shall see.

That's cool I am still waiting for my my 42" I was debating getting the canopy or the top box. I went with the box. Looks like it was shipped proper. Glad to see others jumped on that deal.

I'd be curious at what point it was shown as deleted.

I'm still looking at the $56 International 21" cart...but the shipping is prohibitively expensive...and I've gone all the way through to the place order screen and the shipping charges remain.

if you look at the image in the first post (or follow the URL to the page), it shows right there on the page that it includes free shipping.

sorry.

Nice, that might work to house a TV in my industrial furniture theme.

I got a 41" Homak 6 drawer top on Amazon for $150 the other day. Package says it's 97#. Amazon shipped it FedEx 2-day. No idea how they're making $ either.

I woulda posted the deal but it was one of those Qty 2 flukes - once I purchased and qty went to 1 it shot to $650

this top was listed at 148#on the manifest, but that included the pallet. it was shipped by a LTL shipper to a local depot, and "last mile" by a local company.

you know both of them had to get something . . . . .

Damn.....I wanted one of the small ones but they were OOS by the time I got a chance to order. I don't know if this one would fit, think it'd be too big.

opened it up an hour ago. seems well finished. the door opens smoothly, and is thick enough that there is no twisting while it is opening or when it is opened. the pistons start in pretty quickly and gently lift it open, and stop gently. I didn't have the technology to measure the metal in the door with me. the sides are rolled around the front and down towards the back, rather than wrapping around the front and stoppingl, if that makes sense. there must be a support inside the side walls. the back is one piece of steel perforated for hooks. there is no bottom. I had the impression that there was one from the image online, but it is not a big deal. all in all I am satisfied. it is likely worth something near the 500$ original asking price (delivered).

now it needs to be taken and put on top of the kr1000, but not tonight.

how far forward from the base of the sides does the lid have to pivot before the bottom part of the lid hinges down? im thinking of using the smaller one as an enclosure on top of a workbench rather than toolbox top

I would be glad to take a measurement for you, but unfortunately I just cannot understand what you are looking for.

lol fair enough. looking at it from the side, does the lid go directly up, or up and out (frontward) at an angle?

FYI to anyone that recently purchased this box, it's down to $180.** as of tonight so you might want to try and price protect it ;)

I am not sure what is going on with International SHD - at Home Depot Canada, every product in the line was 50% off last week (still continues but no lower chests exist any more, only uppers).

I ordered 2x 35" lower cabinets for $499 cdn each, free shipping - approx $375usd each. For that money, I think they were a steal based on what I have read but they have not yet arrived for an in-person assessment.
