the actual carport is 26' deep x 30' wide. i will be using 2 10'x8' garage doors sq ft is around 730. the original log construction was done by my opa back in the 50's get this the city engineers said the roof wouldn't hold snow! haha right the roofing is 2 layers of 1.5 inch x 8 inch shiplap. this is my car port; i will start another thread for my 5ooo sqft log shop... you guys will drool as most do

the log was existing, iam filling in the gaps as one would say, ps nice car and clean shop!

update. ran into a issue with attempting to secure plates to the foundation. the plate will be for the 2 2x10 studs that will then have the plate for the garage door tack on it. these plates are 6 inches wide and they crack when i hit them with the hilti gun? should i predrill holes in the wood first? any help or ideas are welcome

Progress update: finishes squaring up all the inside face ready for the hiliti gun and some garage door plates! i had to remove the center piece and reinforce it with some 2x6 as a friends dads gc said i didnt have enough support there, so 4 2x6's later i hope she wont bend haha

you have no idea, they also said that that my shop in the following pics wouldn't hold snow either, the laminated beams come from a old gymnasium and for sheathing they used 2 inch t&g x 2 layers thick!yes i said it 4 inches of sheathing! i kid you not. this shop in open area is 40x50, then another 1500sqft up and downstairs of machine shop and a guest loft and storage

ditch the powder actuated fasteners, grab a sds rotary hammer and some redhead type anchor bolts.

Thank You! 1 bolt per plate should work for each side of the door id imagine? these only go down 1 -5 inches eh?
