That ***** about the windshield.
However, Safe lite can repair most chips. If you get them to fill it before it has a chance to propagate much it should be a good repair that would keep you from having to change the glass.

One of the very reasons I sold my Mach 1, far too many assholes on the road and in parking lots. Most people have no clue as to the work that goes into a finely restored vehicle..... nor do they care. Sorry about the windshield pal.

The truck is stunning Randy! Too bad about the windshield. On to the next....hope you have a merry Christmas!!!!

Still have not quite got over it . . . Merry Christmas to you! All 3 of my Daughters will be here for Christmas. Quite excited to see them

I'd be willing to take the 427 truck off your hands, but the chipped glass will reduce the value.....

:bounce:

Ok, is 50% off enough? Cannot bare to look at it as in line of site. Can you please just take it off my hands? The truck went 40 yrs on original windshield. 200 miles on a NOS one and its broke.

That ***** about the windshield.

Owner of So-Cal speed shop said he has a really good guy to fix chips. Will give that a whirl. Have never had a windshield repaired before.

If I was that upset over a chip in windshield I cannot imagine if someone crashed into me. Maybe its not worth having.

Not like Eco1 was where drive it n go dont really worry about it. Wipe off the rust once or twice per year and let er'rip.

Anyone want to buy a Dual Quad EFI 427?

I think that every single time I've had a windshield replaced, it ended up getting a rock chip in the next week or two. It's one of those Murphy's Law things.

I did some checking a while back, and you can get a vinyl overlay for windshields much like the stuff you can put on headlights to protect them. However, it's not cheap and requires professional installation.

We had that film put on my wife's car this spring to protect the new $1500 Cdn windshield. Should have done it before If we'd realized how damn expensive it was. The film was about $400 Cdn to have done.

What a wild build! I drove a '66 Ford all through high school. My dad had a '65 at the same time. 64-66, definitely my favorite body style.

Welcome to Garage Journal!

Thanks for stopping by my thread.

Not sure how far you read back but my dad bought a new ‘66 October 10, 1965. Still hoping to build clone of that truck before I hang up the tool belt.

In direct competition to this truck I am building this 1966 F250 Ranger. At this point too close to call.

Chassis Dyno
1/4 Mile
60’

Plus whatever else I can dream up.

Starting back in it today after a couple year lull.

Goal is 500 RWHP & a 11 second 1/4 mi for both.

Old Timer car guy with over 30 yrs doing glass repair has fixed the NOS glass so mark no longer visible.

First time I have had glass repair done on anything.

Quite impressed!

He liked truck too!

Glad he was able to fix it for you!
I've lost count how many times I've had chips fixed on my windshields, it's almost as if I have a damn bullseye on whatever I drive. My '17 Taurus I bought last year, got hit in the right lower corner of the windshield as I was driving to work last November...it didn't even have 1,000 miles on the odometer yet. I couldn't see the spot that got hit while driving, so I went to work, put my lunch in the fridge, went back out 15 minutes later & that damn chip was now a foot long crack! :Twitch:
I said "screw it, I'm gonna get my money's worth out of that crack", there are now 4 long cracks all over that windshield. I'll probably replace it next spring. :D

Have been working on 2.7 Eco.
Doing final assy so parts are not scattered all over

It will most likely end up in the ‘66 4x4.

Be a nice daily driver without restoring it.
Save a bucket load of $$.

Re: 1966 F100 EcoBoost Engine Swap & 1966 427 Project

Update: with help mated engine and trans, set cab in place started to drop engine / transmission in place. Got it close & cylinder on cherry picker gave out!
No damage but it’s stuck there now.

First issue with it in 43 years!

Take a guess how much the complete 2.7 weighs and how much with transmission and transfer case.

I'm guessing around 420lbs? Man, there sure is a whole lotta hoses-n-tubes on that engine.

If you got 43 years out of that cherry picker, I'd say that's a pretty decent run!

Another quite possible "Project". Before anyone jumps all over me for this purchase I will explain the why's as things progress. Better than a 50% chance I will own this truck. 2016 F150 3.5 non eco 6R80 Auto.

Appears part of a burning wooden structure fell on truck causing it to catch fire!

Local AZ truck.

This will sound really really stupid especially from one who says to be "broke".

Fried to a crisp no doubt!

Any guesses as to how much truck will sell for?

Might be someone dumber than i . . .Hope not!

Am I the only one who see's value in this pile of burn?

Looks like I was only off by about 50lbs. :D

Man, I can smell that thing from here! I assume the drivetrain is okay? If it's a chance to make you some money, I say go for it!

Sure hoping frame, suspension steering n brakes all good. Enough other good parts I hope I can sell to total cover parts I need.

New frame from Ford now lists for over 4900.00. Add up engine and transmission, suspension, steering n brakes & it’s prob 15k in parts

Engine, Transmission & Transfer Case a whopping 797 lbs!

That’s 30 lb more than setup in Eco2.

Still trying to determine best location for this heavy combo.

Front to back
Side to side
Up n down

Many many things to consider
Hope I get it in right spot.

Call me old fashioned, but modern engines are just **** ugly.Don't get me wrong, the technology and efficiency is amazing. There's just something about a "real" hemi or elephant or a cammer for you Ford guys. Maybe it's just about being a V8 and those valve covers:bowdown:
