I'm not sure who my Secret Santa was as they did not include a note. I suspect they work at a Subaru dealership though! :)

My SS sent me a Dasco pry bar set, which is great. He also sent a set of Lenox screw drivers, which are big in size and have a great feel to them. He knew I loved peanut brittle and set a container full that me and the kids have already started to enjoy. Also included was a bottle of Spiedie marinade, which will be put to use over the weekend. To finish it off, some Subaru swag and some Post-It notes which my son took.

Thank you so much for everything. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone here on the Forum.

Glad you like them! Merry Christmas!

This video is yours being made. https://www.instagram.com/p/BrLKjsTnUNC/

This is just another one showing the process.

This is the second piece I've worked with him on, and he's been a great guy to deal with for anybody looking for a very unique piece. He goes by Flash Arc Tigworks on facebook.
That is awesome, thank you very much! This really is a piece of art!

Thank you very much to my SS. I love the family Christmas card, it’s a nice touch.
I think the kids enjoyed the small screw drivers more than me, I was able to open all their battery covers for new toys!
The coffee liqueur is very cool! I had no idea the company existed, pretty cool. I’ve been wondering what was sloshing around in the box LOL.

Thank you Turnpikecruiser!! Received a couple trinkets from Roswell (the magnet will fit right in, we always buy a magnet from wherever we go) and some homemade chili from a friend. Also got a nice LED headlamp and work light (I have a thing for LED lights), magnetic pick up tool and parts tray, some clamps, a New Mexico plate to hang up in the garage, and a very nice husky mini set. With a craftsman bag to hold it all.

Thank you so much for the generous gift, and merry Christmas to you and your family!!

Thank you, Mr Roboto! I received a four pack of ratchet straps (I always seem to need more of those!), a Little Milwaukee tape measure (ditto), a tire pressure gauge, and a ingenious carpenter's pencil lanyard that will save me hours trying to find the ones I misplace in the middle of a project. He also included several Billings & Spencer s-shaped DOE wrenches with pre-SAE era markings, making them 1930s or earlier! One of the other wrenches appears to be a Ford style wrench for automotive fasteners.

The gift package included a nice note informing me that his dad works at a Chevy dealership parts department near me and can hook me up! That's cool!!98c1fdf03a51ce18649d999f3749fff7.jpg

Finally, thanks to GJSS and the elves who organized this year's exchange. Every year, its described as more work than anticipated, but we're all glad you all do it. Merry Christmas!

You’re very welcome! I’m glad you knew more about the wrenches than I did :) Merry Christmas to you and your Family!

I wanted to say Thank you to my Secret Santa. I loved all the gifts one of the books I was about to purchase a month ago, but I didn't.
The Tekton everybit is awesome. I am looking forward to trying out the Dewalt Pivot Holder. Thanks for the Gearwrench Locking Pliers can never have enough of those. Thanks for the letter, and you made us laugh with that picture of "The Rock" at the bottom of the box, very clever packaging. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Also sent a package of local goodies (Candied Pecans, Fig BBQ sauce & pickled onions from a local BBQ chef who was nationally recognized). Along with a hand written card. It is much appreciated.

Big thanks to my secret santa! There wasn't a name on the package or in the box so whoever you are THANK YOU.

My SS snooped around my wanted ad and filled in 95% of my 1/2" drive craftsman metric deep socket set needs, im another step closer! They somehow also used ESP to sense what pliers I didnt have in the box and also got me a tiny pair of Cman alligator/water pump pliers, slip joint pliers, a Plomb WF 1/4" (or 9/32 I havent checked just yet) breaker bar, and a 1/2" Cman ratchet to join the gang in my box. I also recieved a 1.1mm tough "rite in the rain" pencil, that will be very handy, and a pound of timber coffee. Ive already made a cup as im writing this and its very good!

Big thanks to my SS! The dewalt USB charger adapter will 100% get used regularly in my work tool bag and the t shirts are awesome! Hilarious story about the snap on bottle opener- I actually bought the exact same one from a GJer a year ago, BUT- my wife unintentionally threw it out at some point... I can barely tell you how happy she was to see that bottle opener today. She was pretty upset that she tossed my original one. Thank you, and Merry Christmas to all!!

Thanks so much to woodrail!

Jeff, The padlock is from a local collector in Lorain. I hope it fits into your collection.

The carving tools are from the estate of a leather carver. The box was from a retired toy maker.

The bourbon was stolen from my wife.:shocking:

A really big thanks and a Merry Christmas to my Secret Santa Imstuner!

He got me a really nice and crazy bright rechargeable flashlight. It's a perfect size to become an everyday carry item at work because my Streamlight definitely is not.

He also sent me a WIHA Ultra Driver 26 in 1 screwdriver. This is my first WIHA tool and in true Garage Journal fashion, he has turned me onto a brand that I've read so much about but never owned. The ingenuity of the spring loaded bit holder in the handle is freakin cool to say the least!

Thank you very much for a very nice GJ Secret Santa gift this year and also much thanks to those who organize this each year. Can hardly wait until GJSS 2019!

Good afternoon & Merry Christmas to all.

I want to give a big thanks to GJSS for putting this all together again.

Bree - Wow!!!! Thank you for all the thoughful gifts. I'm blown away. I really am.

Strange thing, I was actually looking at getting that exact Milwaukee Penlight. It will be perfect to use at work along with the knife. As a Craftsman Fanboy, I love the Craftsman shirt and hat. I know I will find many uses for the Channel Locks between the garage, plumbing, and whatever needs to be gripped. :)

Thanks again & Merry Christmas.

Chris

Woah!

Got a set of insulated laser tip wera screw drivers, kroil (which I've heard much about but never tried), quality RTV, sealant, protective gloves and some nice vintage reading material.

I don't currently have an insulated or laser tipped driver set, so this is perfect! The kroil, RTV and sealant will surely come in handy while working on my cars and the reading material seems like a lot of fun.

Thanks SS.

Glad you like it!

I’m so bad at remembering a note, I’m just focused on getting everything out the door ASAP. I hope you’re able to use everything, not sure if the gloves fit, it’s always a guessing game.
Merry Christmas!

Wow KSB, you really went all out. Thank you very much!

Got a little bit of everything, Kris hit all the high points.

Got an awesome GRAY tools 3/8” ratchet. Made in Canada, and really well finished. My goal this Christmas holiday is to finish re-assembling my L250 skid steer sitting in the garage, and I will put this ratchet to good use! As well as the pen light. I don’t have a decent little pocket flash light in the garage, so this will earn a permanent spot in my carharts!

The piggy bank was a gift directly from GRAY, Kris wrote in his card. I don’t know how that worked, all I know is it is the coolest trinket I got this Christmas. It’s a model GRAY roll cab, complete with rolling wheels on the bottom. The bottom “drawer” locks shut, and opens to empty the contents inside. It will be going to work, and I will be using it to store my coffee and egg money for the guys upfront. This is my favourite piece you got me Kris. The kids like looking at it too.

Got a vessel screw driver, with Phillips, Flat, and PZ bits. I didn’t have any PZ bits at all, so this checks that off the list! Already used it to put batteries in the kids Mario race track. It is a very nice driver. It will be going in the console in the service truck, so I always have it handy.

The Case tractor is evidence you did your homework ;) that’s gonna go in the service truck too.

Milwaukee markers and paint pens are awesome consumables that you can never have too much of. For anyone who doesn’t use Milwaukee markers, they really are great. Write way better than sharpies on less than ideal surfaces.

And last but not least some garage art stickers. Always awesome to get new stickers!

Thanks Kris. Thanks for the gifts, the card, and participating. Have a great new year!

And a big thanks for Santa. You do a ton of work that we don’t see, and I’m sure by the end you are burnt out. Thanks for taking this on again, this is one of my favourite things to do with Christmas. Once it’s quieter in this house, I love reading through and seeing what everyone got. Thanks for giving us all this opportunity!

Sorry, been super busy this year. Mine has shipped. It was shipped late though, so I do apologize. This year has just been hectic starting a new job and being the low man on the totem pole.
I have also been out of town, but I do believe mine is at the house.

Well I was really moved by the generosity of gtsgarage on his GJSS gift to me! He really put some thought into it on such a short notice as we got in late on the gift exchange this year. I occasionally enjoy a bit of good tequila, but I always seem to cheap out and buy the cheap ****! Well I received two special glasses to sip tequila from and also two shot glasses made of Himalayan salt, pretty damn cool! to top that off I was sent a very generous gift card to go out and buy me a good bottle of tequila to enjoy with my new glasses, he suggested Casamigos Anejo Tequila. Also included was a very well written and thought out letter, he even talked a little Chicago Bears Football.

A huge thank you goes out to Gtsgarage, I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a awesome new year!

Glad you like it. I’m a big tequila fan myself. I spent hours and hours trying to ship you a bottle legally. It proved impossible. Even debated just throwing a bottle in the box. Enjoy!

Thanks to my GJSS Andrew W. in Sheboygan Falls!

He sent a couple of bottles of some very nice hot sauces and a really cool Harley shirt (that NONE of my riding buddies will have.)

Merry Christmas to all.

Many thanks to casmurbax. Didnt find a note, but the address and the fact that it was 2 separate packages gave it away. :D

It just so happens that I bought myself the Milwaukee bit sets and GW picks within the last month. But never fear, they went to a good home with my father in law, who just happens to be originally from a town an hour away in NY.

The saw blades, screwdrivers, extractors, and especially the bungee will come in handy!!!. Thanks again and merry Christmas!!!

Big Thanks to Chris & family(chrisnazzy)!!

I was gifted a great assortment to get my fab lab tool box originated. A Snap-On plier organizer and wrench racks will really help!

On top of that was a great Yeti tumbler and some fantastic chocolates.

Thanks!

Thanks to my secret Santa for my great gift. I received a sweet set of picks and a magnetic pick up tool. I have been needing a new set of picks and will use them tonight on a carb rebuild tonight. My eyes are not as good as they use to be so the mag pick up tool always comes in handy. Thank you Santa.

My first year doing the SS. I opened my package from Romanova and I am super impressed. My favorite part being the letter that explained each gift item and the significance of them.

The gift starts out with a Lowe's gift card.

Followed by some jerky from a Texas chain store. Also a koozy from the store.

Next is a bunch of Houston police swag. I will have to share some of this with my brother who is also in law enforcement.
The kiddos love the K-9 stuffed animal.

Next a LaRue Tactical bottle opener that that is a tradition of LaRue every year to make one in a different color.

Lastly and the coolest IMHO is the old proto pliers set. What makes these so cool is they belonged to his grandfather which he also shared a touching story of his fond memories with him every summer working on projects.

Thanks again Romanova.IMG_20181225_133233265.jpeg

Looking for the following Plomb Pebbles Wrenches 3061, 3070,

Well, we finally got everyone up, and out of the shower, and I even started the turkey in the Weber!

We got to gifts, and I started with my GJSS gift! It was in a home made shipping box and VERY well packed!

Thank you 1320stang! this was a /great SS gift for me! Its a VERY nice Craftsman Heratige Logo Hip box, and in EXTREMELY good condition! So good that as I was unwrapping it, I thought it might have been repainted!

I get it open and the tool tray shows wear from sockets, but still in good shape!

Then I took the tray out:

Saw the pics of your Snappy boxes, thought this man has got everything.
Grease fitting identifier was the only reach I could come up with.
Happy Holidays everyone

Thanks GJSS you put on a memorable Xmas.

I've been anxiously waiting to see if you liked it.

I searched long and hard for long pattern wrenches at pawn shops and came up short, the box I figured might be good for storing your collection. It's the nicest I've seen.

The Plomb hammer I got had a busted handle. I had gotten in from a friend whose husband passed, when I saw it was Plomb I knew you had to have it. As bad as the handle was, the head is in suprisingly great shape. I had to look all over town for a handle, no one carries handles anymore!!! Luckily I found a shop that had some and they were made in the USA, this was the last octagonal handle they had.

I always try to send something MIO (made in Oklahoma) and Head Country is my favorite bbq sauce. I hadn't realized they had hotter and different flavors. So I set you up, I hope you enjoy them, it was something I thought you could take camping.
