My new home has an older 1/3 Craftsman garage door opener. It is hardwired to a switch that opens/closes the door, and turns on/off the light. I cannot find a reprogram button on the unit to program a universal remote or to a car homelink. The model number appears to be J39.53400. I’m not sure about the first digit, but everything after the 39 is legible. There are two pots for the up and down force, and a DIP switch, but that’s it. The newer unit on the other garage door and the units on my old house had a blatant reprogramming button. Any ideas? Here are some pics.
Thanks
Max

LB,
Fantastic! Thanks so much for that. Looking around now I see a number of units that have the DIP switches to set the code. I'll be picking one up from Amazon (prime, free shipping).

That's whats great about this forum. So many people willing to help you out. Thanks again.
