Picked up a real nice set of these today.....on craigslist.

The gentleman that I bought them from said got them in the mid 90's.

I know they've been around since the 50's....

Were there earlier different styles/types....or did they all look like this?

I've got a mutt SAE set from various manufacturers. Haven't had to use them yet, but they're ready if I need them.

Also have a Truecraft 10mm and MAC 15mm.

I used these wrenches when I was working at a service station in the mid seventies. I don't think I even gave a thought about who made the tool at the time as I was about 16 YO than I remember them being very versatile

I liked those, my dad has one of those for getting to one of the exhaust manifold bolts in the back on his 70 Road Runner if I recall correctly. He says it's the only thing that got to get on it. He picked it up sometime in the 00's. I wonder why Craftsman discontinued them. Low demand I would think. I've found the 1/4" and 3/8" inch "flex handles" with corresponding socket on the end are basically the same thing just slightly taller but will still fit most places where a saltus can and ratchet won't.

You would think they would be more useful, but I'm not sure I've ever used my set more than once or twice.

Its probably lost as no one ever used it,,, ha but,, I have a set and keep them with other specialty wrenches. They came in a set, they have a spot on occasion, work good for chain saw bars. Having a set at a reasonable price makes them ok to take up a little box space.
