OMG...my college senior’s swim meet was moved up and now CONFLICTS with a steam and gas swap meet Saturday, because of predicted weather. Arrggg! Can’t catch a break here.
HA-HA on me! The swim meet was cancelled. But Mrs LS pointed out that the AUTOmania show was happening right here at the Allentown Agriplex - much closer than Jacktown. So I still had a conflict. I chose convenience over adventure today. $10 admission, looked the whole cars, partial cars, and car parts over, then spent $16 on $1 items. While I was digging through a pile of junk, elbow to elbow with a few other bargain-hunters, two young fellas stopped to observe. Finally, one says, “I don’t understand why guys waste their time pawing through useless, broken tools.”
Hmmm...me neither, but it didn’t stop me.
I deluded myself into believing a PEXTO 40-7 was the UTICA 1950-7 with depressed diamonds I’ve been hunting. Picked a flying-V Vlchek/CeeTee pliers after sorting through a half dozen gull-winged ones with no flying-Vs. An interesting Jaguar (Garrington) wrench, and since I didn’t have a magnet handy, a copper-plated steel wrench I thought might be Br alloy.
But the BIG STORY is: I have discovered that Harold is the OEM for the Sears “Happy-Time” children’s slipjoints. The oft-maligned “fake gull-wing” slipjoints are THE SAME as the Sears “Happy-Time” children’s slipjoints. Now, somebody wanted these, right?
