Kobalt is being phased out in favor of Craftsman.

OT: I think it's a terrible idea for Lowes. Craftsman quality is going downhill and everyone knows it, and the bright red aesthetic really doesn't look right inside the dark blue Lowes stores.

Looks like the big change is coming to town here. Maybe some Kobalt clearancing too

I agree. I know a guy that works at our local Lowes and he mentioned that much of the Kobalt is going to make way for more Craftsman. He mentioned the frustration of only have full sets and being unable to replace a ratchet, for example.

I've yet to buy the "new" Craftsman tools, and likely won't. I've been satisfied with what the Kobalt and even Husky tools from HD.

What is everyone's experience with getting boxes that don't appear in a store's inventory. There are 5-6 large Kobalt boxes at the store near me with item numbers that don't even exist any more. I'm hoping the manager will discount them 75%

Who knows, just hope your manager isn't as stingy as the one who runs the Lowes near me.

I was in there one day and found a used torque wrench on the rack, listed at full retail price. It had been used and returned, the package was taped up with scotch tape...and it was sitting on the shelf cranked up to 240 ft-lbs. Who knows how long it had been sitting there.

Brought it to the attention of the associate, who said he'd tell the manager about it. That was two weeks ago or so.

Was in there last night and what do I see? Same damned torque wrench sitting on the shelf. They're selling what's likely to be an inaccurate torque wrench now...that's used...at full retail price. :wtf:

Always worth asking! See if you can do some research first and find any proof of the lowest price it sold at somewhere else as a bargaining chip of sorts

I'm sure you have a reason why your posts are so generic. WHAT exactly
went 50%. What building was it? Your cutoff tool was made by????
I always tried to be clear with deals I posted. These kind of posts are useless. This is just another reason why I quit posting.

thanks for coming back to post that you had quit posting. :tard:

There are about 12 of them available in my local area. They are listed for 120 on clearance online. If you want to buy it I can pick it up for you and then send it your way if you like. My zip is 11967. Let me know.

I would really like to find one at 29 but if there was shipping on one at 67 I would probably still buy it.

Thanks.

I haven't been active in this thread, so my apologies if this is a question that's already been answered....

The Rockwell Jawhorse shows $120 at all my area stores. When I go to lowes.com and try to change stores, the website forces me to login.

When I check the inventory on Brickseek, their data tells me that some stores have it for around $65. Is logging into the Lowes.com preventing me from getting the deals? I did snag one of these Jawhorses a few years ago for around $30. I really like it and would definitely buy another.

As of my view I think it is in stores only. Online at my store it says $120, in store it is $65

Lowes fixed that a long time ago.
Where you can't change locations to get the better price and pick up at your location.

All Lowes clearance pricing varies from store to store.
What has been working is if you find a store that still ships a clearance item.

Order from them to get the better price.

I just tried to buy one of the stainless tool carts yesterday. A store in Roanoke has one, even though they're showing out of stock online. They refused to match the online price.

Pretty sure that is incorrect. About two weeks ago, I could change to various stores and see 3 different prices on a chainsaw. One was 75% off, one was 50% off, and another was full price.
