I would be interested in knowing how much the whole kit was. The gas mask would be great for a Halloween costume.
Yesterday it was $50. Today, $35. :) I think your best bet is a WWII mask. I see them show up a lot and let go cheaper.

BTW, all the Serbian protection kits came out of the "Gotham" TV show auction, with the tombstones I posted yesterday and almost everything you see in Pic 1 below, including the gorgeous writing desk/chair unit (See Pic 2 and 3 for close-ups). I wanted that badly, but not at $1,000!

"Pennypincher"
Marketing took the direct no clever subtleties or allusions approach to the frugal buyers on that branding!

Not technically a purchase.... But walking back from the pub last night spotted something shiney on the pavement!

Blue Point T45 torx socket!

Not a darn thing wrong with FREE!

$60 offer up deal for all tools pictured. They were filthy came with 1 tote and also a black and decker plug in drill and a no name impact gun and socket. Also a lot of drill bits not pictured. Guy met me in a parking lot and quickly sped off with cash in hand. Said his dad fixed lawn mowers and is too old to use these anymore. I asked if tools were craftsmen made in USA or other USA tools. He said there were a lot of Craftsmen, he lied , total of 4 sockets and 1 wrench. However, there were a few gems in this lot.

When I get these type of sales, I'm always a little cynical about the seller's provenance for the items. My personal criteria is to not jump to conclusions unless it becomes painfully obvious they are not the real owners. Fortunately, I've not yet been in that situation.

Questions
1. Is all Stanley Crv stuff made in Taiwan? There are no markings on any of my wrenches or sockets other than Crv and Stanley.
I am going to sell the 1 piece items like Proto Spark plug socket, Mac tools 10mm, Snap on 14mm wrench, Craftsmen USA stuff. 2. Best place to sell on here? 3. Ebay? 4. Is there any value in drop forged made in Taiwan and Stanley tools?
Thanks in advance. If anyone is looking to complete a set let me know.

1. Probably
2. In the Classifieds sub-forum
3. Yes (much bigger audience on Ebay)
4. Some if you sell them cheap in a batch

Oh quick update on the Hitachi mitresaw from Monday night.
Spent some time cleaning it up this morning and sanded back the deck to remove some glue and scratches.
(before/after images below)

Good as new and and Hitachi still stock spares for all the parts so a new trigger is on order for just £5.

Excellent--a great bargain gets even better!

Maybe put your hands down your pants for warmth, and touch everything in sight on the way in. People will leave quickly.

:lol_hitti

j/k

Um, around here that would only get you the evil eye and maybe a few chuckles. These North East pickers are a tough lot. I had one guy today yell at me for examining my own pile of finds in the yard, thinking I was pilfering someone else's.

Bluebolt,
The ratchet lube was thrown in the box as I was leaving. It has no markings and appears to be a dark gray (graphite?) thin grease. You can see it in the attached (really bad) picture. It seems to work fine. That is all I know :headscrat.

Only 1 sale today, but it was a pretty good one. First pic is hardware, mostly fender washers and misc. Second pic is also hardware, but it's all stainless steel. Third pic is more hardware, but brass, as well as some AN style fittings and misc . Next is some automotive, fifth is mostly Craftsman 1948 oxy-acet book, band saw blade, snap ring or circlip pliers, screwdriver, Proto 1/2-9/16 tappet wrench, KD snap ring tool and a punch. Sixth is a 8mm X 1.25 Heli-coil kit, a slick transfer punch, Jacobs drill arbor, some precision step blocks, a compass says Buick on it, and a small dolphin wind chime (don't know why I bought it, just thought it was cool). Last is a set of giant tail lights, but strangely they're only single filament. Couple more in next post.

American Scale 3-1/2" vise, these things never cease to amaze me for the size of the base, the screw, and how much they weigh for a 3-1/2" vise.

Then there is this puller kit, appears to be Army surplus judging by the color. Can you military guys tell me anything about it? Quite a bit of military stuff at this sale, not my thing, don't really know much about it.

Well, I didn’t get much. Somebody named ‘Roy’ beat me to the Wilton bullet vise, and all 3 Fisher anvils.

I did get:
a small Colombian vise

Wrenches are Proto, SK, Challenger, Thorsen and a vv Craftsman

Sockets are Proto

Ratchet is a new Britain

Tool box is a Lyon

Snips, I can’t remember, didn’t recognize the brand but have cool octopus suction cup style handles

Things have finally picked up a tiny bit!

4 sales listed two were producers, I was told of another estate sale by a lady I knew running one of the producing estate sales. SWMBO and I hit that on on the way to grocery shopping after i came home and forgot about it..

First producing YS gave me the 5 gallon sized paint mixing sticks, and I bought the two 6" Kant Kink Clamps for 5 each.

attachment.php

Second producer was a last day Estate sale and the K&E Leroy set was probably the score for $5 - Kruig coffee filters Coleman battery holders, and a measuring shot glass. total was $7

attachment.php

The Kruig filters fit s Coleman No 0 funnel about perfectly!

attachment.php

The Estate sale on the way shopping wasn't bad either! SWMBO for some high quality Bead necklaces and some Xmas ornaments, I got mostly a bot of miscellaneous things, and a glass wall display case that will be a B-day gift for my oldest daughter.

The 3 in 1 oil was from the prior Estate sale - this one had the Scissors, the security Cam mount, file handles, another brass Nozzel, mini grinder guard
a knife the big Clip new 3/8's drill, hose quick disconnect, and small tools.

attachment.php

A bunch of pulls, and some 3 or 4 ought Steel wool.

attachment.php

Here is the Glass Wall Display. my daughter loves these things. but they are usually stupid $$. I got all the above for $15.

attachment.php

Oh yeah! the brass nozzle? ALMOST a dupe! same brand, different knurling adn the taper at the tip is different. May be some internal diffs, I'll check when I rebuild this one.

My finds for today.

Blackhawk 34999 ratchet, this is unplated and has 60 clicks. I believe it is a Kilness NB design, although unplated throws me off as to age. However I don't know much, it's my first Blackhawk or NB ratchet. Kind of ugly but works like a beaut.

Williams 276A L-handle socket wrench. Looks like 1-5/8" or 1-11/16" size, 14.5" OAL, handle diameter 1"

$10 for the pair

A few flea market finds from today:

- 2 small drill index(HSS)
- Berylco scraper
- Set of Irwin Spade bits
- Cold Chisel
- Proto brake adjustment tool
- 6' Oxwall Tape Measure
- Center Punch
- Punch
- Assortment of 'stanley' hand drills and bits
- Craftsman #4 12" Hook Rule
- Aladdin 'wheel' stove, Made in 1943, US Issue

Most of the items were unpriced, so I made a pile and offered $20. Seller jumped to say 'yeah, sure' and I knew I overshot his expectations. Need to research the Aladdin 'wheel' stove more, I threw it in to the pile because it looked too good to pass up.

Mrs LS and I were walking our three dogs this morning before heading out to two fire hall flea markets. I noticed that neighbors were cutting down an old apple tree, which I had been eyeing (along with some red-bellied woodpeckers) for a couple years, scheming how to get a bit for handsaw handle repairs.
We didn’t get far past a coffee stop, when I realized the fleas were SUNDAY only. Return to base.
I puttered for a while in our basement, finally headed over to the site of the downed apple tree. The owner generously offered me all I cared for. Sadly, the woodpeckers were right: rot and insect tunnels in the core. But there’s enough sapwood for the little repair bits I have in mind.

Agreed. But I'll be gone by 9AM tomorrow. If I was flush with play money right now I would have made an offer today. He's getting sick of people admiring it but no takers. :) Did you see the huge manor house kitchen chopping block? We need to get some GJ t shirts so we know when we're both there at the same time. Haha.

It’s likely the thumb part came from one of these.

OK, here is the other stuff I picked up. Harbor Freight dollies and Truck Crane. The crane is missing the bottle jack, anybody got a source? The yellow fireman's helmet is a Morning Pride brand and is from Andrews AFB Maryland , home of the Boeing 747's that become Air Force One when the president is on board.

The Packer Auto "Ray" socket set is de-rusting.

Here is the rivet set and header. PEXTO No. 2. With an unfortunately large and ugly set of PO's initials. I only bought it because d42jeep has been collecting them and I can't let him be the only one!

Eight (8) of them - No. 00 through No. 6 - were issued to the Sheet Metal and Radiator Mechanics' Tool-Set in WWII. Don has a pretty big head start but the race is officially on now and I trust his integrity to not use eBay to win. :)

Wow, what a grab, BC! I was at that same sale twice this weekend and didn't look twice at that truck. Will you be able to title it with a bill of sale or will you part it out?

Let me guess, the paperwork did not match the plate on the drivers door right? If so that door was probably replaced. Check the frame on the passenger side. The VIN should be stamped on top, will probably have to do some cleaning or wire brushing. It is usually just in front of the cab mount but from experience sometimes it is farther forward. That door tag says 1979 but the front grille is 1973-1977

The tag on the drivers door is a warranty tag, not a VIN tag for registration purposes. You can legally get a new door tag if you want, since most vehicle inspectors do not know any better they usually only look at the door. In 1980 Ford trucks got an actual VIN tag on the drivers side of the dash. Cars got VIN tags on the dash in 1968. That was a federal law. Messing with the dash VIN tag is a federal crime.

The place to get the door tags is Marti Auto works, looks like $35 for the tag plus a few bucks for the correct rivets. www.martiauto.com/tags.cfm

You can also get a report on how the truck was originally equipped rom Marti as well if you wish.

Oh quick update on the Hitachi mitresaw from Monday night.
Spent some time cleaning it up this morning and sanded back the deck to remove some glue and scratches.
(before/after images below)

Good as new and and Hitachi still stock spares for all the parts so a new trigger is on order for just £5.DSC_1134.jpgView attachment 856590

ON That is a great pickup. You definitely **** with that 12" Hitachi miter saw!!!

The Kruig filters fit s Coleman No 0 funnel about perfectly!

...

That is GREAT to know Outlaw! I've been wondering if Coleman still made filters for these funnels. A quick google made it appear they don't so this will be the direction I go. FYI, I use my old funnel when returning the used Evaporust to it's container after derusting some tools.

Wow, what a grab, BC! I was at that same sale twice this weekend and didn't look twice at that truck. Will you be able to title it with a bill of sale or will you part it out?

I believe in MA all I need is the bill of sale. I found out it is a 1977.

Thank You for that info! The paperwork that was present was all old receipts and photocopies of old bill of sales, etc. So nothing that would help me per say. The license plate on it seems to be the last time it was registered, I will call NH DMV and see if I can get some info there.

Looks like the last occupant was a vice, but this is probably a grinding stand. Please notice the welding job on the cast iron tray. Don't you have to braze cast iron?

Also scooped up this guy's left over screws. Came in this sweet compartment box that has scooped bins. Bigger shops always have some company supplying them with small parts. This was The Fullwell Motor Products Co.

Well after running errands this morning I decided to go to an estate sale in Lowell that was on its second day with everything half off. Looked around the house and came up with nothing. I then decided to head to the backyard where I made a scene of slipping on the ice back there, LOL. I noticed there was still an elephant in the backyard that still hadn't sold. I vaguely remember it from the photos online and was surprised at the marked price, after looking over it for an hour and talking with the guy running the sale I shook hands at $175 for it. There was some paperwork but it didn't match but with the year of it I shouldn't have any problems.
Nice looking truck. Even nicer price! Well done.

Cheers Longhorn, It's only a 10" Mitre saw but still a happy score!
I'm still having issues posting pictures from the mobile app so I'll drop one final image of the cleaned up saw here, meant to have been in the last post but got "lost", and then move on (typing from PC).

Anyway been out and about today so I'll show you some more spoils shortly :bounce:

Afternoon folks, Yorkshire calling! :D

With gale force winds forecast I got out bright and early this morning over to Wetherby where there was an advertised Antiques show and a vintage showroom I frequent.
TBH kinda struck out at both picking up just three things and getting very cold in the process!

However you guys in the US may get a chuckle out of the location of the shop...I'm not saying folks in Yorkshire are tight ...but when the MOD moved out of a WW2 era munitions factory site...well the local council converted it straight into a retail park.

YUP! The shops are in the old munition storage bunkers...:shocking:
