New Garage/ Shop/ Man Cave

Finally after 2 years of remodeling our house & guest house we got started on the final segment “The Shop”. The shop will have 3 separate rooms. RV Garage that will also double as a paint booth when needed. The middle section will be the man cave/ storage room for finished vehicles. The last room will be the shop/ work area.

I’ve attached a sketch of the original plan. It doesn’t show the bathroom & mechanical room but gives an idea of shape and size.

Little progress on the shop. Siding is up on the back. Starting on the front. Below the white molding will be brick and the whole front of the RV bay will be brick.

We’re expecting weather over the thanksgiving weekend so we’ll turn our focus to the inside the next few days.

Drywall is up and now putting the brick in the finished car area.

Drywall was textured Thursday, painted Friday now working on getting the light fixtures and electrical plugs put in. Couple weeks out from doing the epoxy floors and installing the lifts.

Yes they are led. Attached are some pics of the lights we used. The pictures with the lights on don’t do the brightness of them justice.

Question, why did you feel the need for mini splits and the gas burner? I see you are in Reno and I don’t recall it often getting so cold the split wouldn’t work.

I had two Modines from another shop so we put them in during construction so we had heat. Since they were already up I just decided to leave them. I plan on just using the mini splits but if for some reason I need more Ive got it.

We had a pretty good storm hit us this past weekend. It also was good timing for delivery of the cabinets. I was able to make some progress and get most of them installed over the weekend.

I got to test out the 4 post lift today. I Brought home my Hudson out of storage. Hope to get the rest of the cars out soon as well.

Great shop! Nicely done. What's the top plate height on the non RV side?

Wall height is 10’. The 2 doors to the left are 9’, the 2 doors in the middle are 8’6”. We had to step the shop due to the slope on the property.

The cabinets are from Saber Cabinets. The Saber distributor is right here in Reno, Nv. They are very well built and much more affordable than most.

Bases come flat bottom only. But he does sell the legs to put under if needed.
