I was installing some telco gear at work. usually everything is 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, or 1/2. I was shocked they used such an odd size I didn't have my metrics with me will try a 9mm see if it was actually that size which might be even more odd.

I just purchased a Wrightgrip SAE set that didn’t include 11/32” because they don’t make it. I already planned to keep my old Craftsman RP 11/32” just in case.

Yep use 11/32 nut driver all the time dealing with electrical equipment. Especially nuts in the small j-boxes on motors and ballast nuts.

SAE stuff is so cheap, may as well get a list of all the SAE sizes and have every size on hand even if it's an off brand.

+3 on electrical work. Sockets short and deep, wrenches shorty and standard. keeping my eyes peeled for an XL wrench. Sometimes a motor bracket uses the motor end bolt for support, and the only sane way to get it off is with a wrench.

You can always tell if the previous guy was a Vise-Grip tech.

Just realized I don't have this in my wrench and nut-driver selection. I do run into #8 screws pretty often.

Just texted my SO dealer to remedy that problem. Thanks GJ...

11/32 is 0.3438 and 9mm is 0.3543, so a 9mm is about 0.010 larger. Close enough so you Metric types shouldn't have to buy another tool!

Like jayrush13 and ecotec, I use 11/32 often enough to have a wrench and driver in my backpack. Who else besides me got fed up looking for a 1/4 hex drive hollow shaft bit and just made their own?

But 9mm is also an unusual size. It isn't included in the ANSI/ISO, JIS, or DIN standards, so is often skipped in metric wrench/socket/bit sets. (I know because I just had to track some down and buy them separately!) :willy_nil
