I'd love to know the decision making process behind putting those on the shelf. I can only imagine that somebody along the chain had to have noticed.

Most store chains and everyday employees don't know tools like many of us. They just put it where they are told, and marketing places stuff "like with like".

And most people don't know or buy quality - the cheaper tool almost always outsells the more expensive (even if it's better) tool.:(

I was thinking Stanley needs a ton of merchandise to supply Lowe’s and fell short on the Craftsman grips and just used the Vise Grip ones instead. There was a whole hook of them so it wasn’t a one off mistake.

In my experience someone loaded the wrong paper label in the packaging machine for that days run, or the wrong color grips. I remember years back we got a Buick in with Oldsmobile striping and stickers on one side and Buick on the other. It happens.

On second look it appears the whole row is like that. Wrong grips installed . Wonder how many were ran that way.

If I had to look at 5000 Vice Grips coming off the line every day, I imagine they would all pretty much the same after a few months.

Or, in my case, after fifteen minutes.
