Does anyone know if I can get one key to open both the top and bottom of my toolbox?

You would probably have to get a matching lock set. Quality Craft may be able to sell you a set. I have used a local locksmith to get matching lock sets in the past.

If you call masterforce they will do it for $20 a lock.

You probably going have get 2 keyed alike locks from a local hardware or online specialist, not aware of menards doing keyed alike parts .

Menards will rekey house locks for something like $10 in the door department.

As long as they have pin sets, they should be able to rekey any lock.

Do a search for lock pins, etc. There are several YouTube videos showing the process to rekey.

i ran into a problem getting a replacement lock, from whomever the vendor was, a few years back. menards changed the vendor, and it seemed the vendor was closing out product.

I recently bought a locking mailbox and wanted extra keys. Online reviews showed other buyers had trouble getting them from either the manufacturer or the local locksmith. After extensive examination of the key and his inventory, my local locksmith said it was a cheap imported lock that he didn't have blanks for. He did however, have a universal replacement lock kit for $12 for which he could make keys.

I suspect the situation, and probably the locks themselves, are much the same for toolboxes. The consideration would be diameter and approximate length of the barrel, which he was able to match. The kit had several locking tabs of different offsets (to compensate for barrel length), one of which I made to work with slight straightening.

This is what I ran into. For the fleet at work we needed 30 cheap gun vaults to lock items in. They were the cheapest item you could get your hands on that fit the bill. It became my problem that they needed to be keyed alike and the supplier couldn’t help because they were mass produced in China. The local locksmith set me up with new locks and matching keys that I installed for a reasonable price.
