Anyone else having issues with Lowes inventory? Every item I check says "please call your local lowes to check inventory". Which is probably why BrickSeek is not working either. Every item I look up on BS says "not available in your search areas". Even very common items I know they have.

With brickseek, you have to click search several times and then it works. For lowes, have seen that with clearance items recently in the last couple months, no clue.

not as good, but this one is showing $5 in CT
....

Picked one up for $3.50 at my local store today. Also overheard the department manager tell someone that he got a notification that a bunch of porter cable stuff went non-stock so be on the lookout for good deals on PC stuff. Already had some of the 20v batteries on the clearance shelf, but don't own any PC so didn't pay much attention to the prices.

Just picked up a Item # 97483
Troy-Bilt XP 7000-Running-Watt Portable Generator for 225.00 No longer available on Lowes.com. You'll have to search via brickseek.

Almost took it but it would probably just sit in a pile somewhere for 20 years!

You NEED that wrench. Did the movie Armageddon teach you nothing!? (Because that's the main reason I picked one up if I'm honest)d0bcfc050afff28b37f801b3f6011d38.jpg

I got that at one store but I switched it to the store closest to my house and it went through. Hopefully it won't end up like the levels I never got.

Lowes is reconfiguring the entire “Tool World” from self checkout to their Pro Service. My local Lowes is the first in the district to have this done. They’re in the process this week and next. They’re setting it up for Craftsman. Discontinuing lots of Kobalt tools, they told me “ if Craftsman makes it then Kobalt goes away”. All new shelving that will face the opposite front what they are currently.
Right now there are lots of clearance carts loaded with all kinds of tools.
Not real good deals yet.
They said all Lowes are getting this upgrade.
There should be some good deals soon. Probably first come first serve.

I had seen a couple of deals on this thread, and had not been to my local Lowe's for a while, so I went yesterday (Route 1 in Alexandria, VA). It looked like a powerful tornado had gone through the tool department. Only one small display on clearance so far, not much of a selection, and not honking prices. It looks like all the display power tools are slated for replacement, so there may be some deals at some point. One clerk was gathering items like that into carts and pushing them into the back (I followed her in case there was a clearance area I missed), maybe they are going to get everything out of the way, fix the displays and then bring the clearance items back out to set up for sale. I guess I will have to keep checking back.

They replaced all of the kobalt garage stuff with craftsman. Most of it did not make it to clearance rack.

What about Kobalt warranty? will they exchange them for Craftsman? I even have some Kobalt battery power tools, am I SOL for them as well?

-The Great

Was wondering about that myself. Plus, would they give you a battery and charger to go with your new Cman power tool, or just try to replace your “tool only” Kobalt drill with a “tool only” Cman drill that you can’t use? :headscrat

Lowes isn't discontinuing Kobalt: "we'll continue to have a large selection of Kobalt items to purchase both in store & online. Some Kobalt items discontinued in store will be available online. Lowe’s continues to be committed to the Kobalt brand" which is a statement directly from Lowes.

Making Kobalt online-only may be the next step towards a full discontinuation of the brand especially if Craftsman does well from a profitability standpoint. Lowes will probably re-evaluate the Kobalt brand in 10 years when they are no longer required to pay royalties to Sears from sales of Craftsman products.

In any case, I don't think one would have a problem getting a warranty replacement of anything Kobalt or Craftsman. Both are "Lowes Brand" products and Lowes needs a house brand to remain competitive with Home Depot (Ridgid). Kobalt and Craftsman warranty replacements will come from its house equivalent so long as Lowes itself is a viable company.

I've already had issues with Lowes warranting non-single items, meaning when they come from a set. I was told to, "Find a store that has the set and see about them replacing it."

I went to the store closed to my work and asked the counter person, she checked the sku and said, "We don't have this." And left it at that.

Yeah, sure Lowes will be great at warranting something they don't even sell anymore.

That’s when you buy the set and swap out the good tool for the bad one if they won’t honor it [emoji2373]
