To much to read. That post is like a novel. You do the reading, use the search function & spend a few hours reading toolbox threads & then come back with some specific questions. Expecting members to 'school' you on SO's full range of past & present boxes is very hard to do in a post.

Well, thanks. I realized it was a long read which is why I did highlight in bold the real help i was looking for, but well, forget about it.

I've been trying ot understand SO's model lineup but their website doens't make it clear.

Is my original post better now?

I've been searching and reviewing for days and finding nothing. Figured someone on here might be able to help out or point me in the right direction.

Check this link, towards the bottom they have their pdf catalogs on their various tool boxes (heritage/classic/masters). It may give some insight but is likely somewhat dated information (not real recent).

Heritage and classic are, IIRC, going to be KRA boxes regardless if made in the US or Canada. Either one would be a decent box. To me a KRA is a KRA.

KR & KRL are your master series, KR's may have friction slides (depending on age) and they predate the KRL's but are very good boxes.

Epiq boxes are the newer super ultra premium line.

If you go the KRA route I'd suggest looking for one that is 22"-24" deep as it's more storage overall. William's rebrands some of the KRA's, Have to go by visual & dimensions to ID them.
They did rebrand some International boxes as well. Toolsdelivered.com had them listed.

If you have a Menard's local to you, check out their Masterforce tool boxes, They are quite nice.
