Ok 19 it is. I was just going by the description but they may have misread the castingI’m hoping they flip it for a reasonable price, at least I’ll have a chance at it. I’m pretty sure it’s a 19, the handle would appear shorter on an 18
I'm hoping somebody bought it to restore and keep not just flip it on eBay

True and could very well be the case. "Hey look hon, remember how I've been wanting a vise for the garage" lolThe general population out there has for most part no clue about old vises. It is possible and will be ironic if the person bought just to use it and has no clue what it really is worth.
It was an educated guess, I could be wrong. The jaw width will tell the tale. Can you post the original ad?Ok 19 it is. I was just going by the description but they may have misread the casting

Did you ask them if that was for the whole table of tools vice?

Rick- I’ve been cleaning up a 405 and ironically enough I can find no stamping on it either for the date. Thanks for posting that you could neither you wouldn’t believe the amount of time I spent looking. Josh
, possibly the contract vices weren't dated. Or only done for a few years.
Nice 108.---Anybody for a roadtrip?

Picked this Athol 323 1/2 X today for $60. Nice and clean.
Anyone know what the 'X' stands for?

Outlaw they had the tool bench without tools marked 200$ and the bench was small made out of 2x4
Needless to say I walk out of that sale empty handed![]()

Nothing like a little R&R on a Sunday afternoon.

Yeah, I’d like to see the CCTV footage of my face as I turned the the corner an saw the vise.its a local establishment that I like to walk through on the weekends. I got the little guy for $88, I’m going to call him Dale Jr.Smitty
With those prices the emphasis seems to be exclusively on the threasure rather than junk
That is quite an eclectic collection of items! Is this an antique shop somewhere near you? Or is some kind of estate sale?

Thanks Gman. Yeah, a base would really enhance the vise. I seem to remember you posting a Simple Green soaking procedure for vises a while back. Would you mind posting it again? For $88 that is a good score. Now you have to find a base for it![]()

Thanks. Nice lineup, is the big blue Prentiss a 4 or a 5?Smitty I’ve been heating simple green and it works extremely well I use a large pot and a hot plate.
