I found a nice box for sale today. Emailed the guy to get more info and he said he wasn't sure of the model number but it was a KRL series. After some looking I think its a KRL722. Looks to be in nice shape.

What would one of these go for used?

I'd say $2k for average condition, $2.5k for very nice and a tad shy of $3k for a cream puff.

If you get one for <$2K that'll be a very good score.

It's seems like prices vary significantly across the country with the NE being a true buyers market.

Check Ebay completed sales for more data.

Guess it depends where you are. They can be had in nice shape in the SE for $1,800 pretty often and less if you can wait a few month.

The blue one looks like a Classic 78 (KRA vs KRL series).

I see them frequently listed for about $2k and they don't sell very quickly. I bet you could get one for $1500.

The red one looks like an oddball in the SO lineup. If you like that configuration, you should be able to get a good deal on it.

It all depends on the seller. Some of these guys think tool boxes hold their value like hand tools and are in for a rude awakening. If you have a seller serious about selling then there are good deals if you're patient.

I'd guess $1800-$2000 for very good condition. A couple hundred more if it has a SS top. Keep in mind a 722 is not as deep as larger KRLs. That's may work out good if floor space is limited. That blue one looks like a KRL722 to me. The red box looks very nice. What's the price on it?

asking price is $1400 each

I emailed the seller about the blue one. The red is interesting too. I also found an old Mac that has the speakers in the doors. Can't remember which model it is though.

It can't be a classic 78, because it has two full width top drawers and the Classic 78 only has one. For the current production boxes, only the KRL series (Master Series in the catalog) have two full width top drawers. (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong) It looks like this box to me:

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...group_ID=18215&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

Its got 2 full width top drawers and the lower end non-suspension wheels.

The blue one is NOT a Classic 78. It is either a KRL722 or KRL7022. The 722 is 24" deep and the 7022 is 29" deep.

The red box is old. I dont know the model but unless you can get it dirt cheap, I would stay away from it. There are too many other used boxes on the market to choose from.

I don't think the red one is a good deal for what they are asking but I don't think they would come down enough either.
