Thinking about attending. Need help with best days to attend, saw older threads that suggested vendors leaving on Saturday evening.
Make me smarter its about an 8 hour drive 1 way might it be worth it? I have never attended any of the large meets like this and in Pa.

Thanks

My brother and I are attending as well - we're fist timers so I can't offer any advise. Our plan is to attend on Thursday and Friday with a option for Saturday.

It takes a couple of days, or maybe 3, to see everything. If you are looking for Chevrolet parts, it's a little different situation than if you're looking for Hudson parts. You may find they have a directory of who has what which could be somewhat useful if you are looking for something specific. They used to.

There will be bargains early, which get snatched up, and bargains late, which get marked down, as you would expect.

They typically have a big car corral if you're in the market for any cars.

Something like 8k vendor spaces.

Was last there as a vendor 3 yrs ago. Drove down from NY. Met some friends. Not too many motorcycles. Mostly vehicle and household stuff. Great fun. Sold a bunch of Honda Dealer outdoor signs and a couple of mid size Honda generators.
Coolest thing I saw was a large flatbed trailer loaded with old Hemi engines on low stands.

Place was packed till late Saturday. Some vendors left, but Sunday was at least 50%.

If you are going for the swap meet, Thursday and Friday are the best times before everything is picked over. The Vendors do start leaving Saturday afternoon, especially if there is weather predicted. Saturday is the biggest day attendance wise. By lunch Sunday it is looking pretty thin. I haven't been for the entire show in a few years so YMMV.

Friday is probably the best day for finding things. Saturday is the day of the car show. AACA has their annual spring meet, and the local clubs bring out their cars.

My son and I went a couple years back on Friday. my phone app said I walked ten miles that day. We probably skipped a third of it.

This will be our 35th year setting up at Charlotte. I have included a link for a map of the speedway. Inside the speedway are vendors, lots of manufacturers booths, car corral , food ,etc. There are 2 areas outside of the speedway ( red field and the green field ) I would park outback at either of those fields, get there early and get as close to the track as you can. If you park across from the speedway it is a hike and then you will have to walk down the grandstands to the track. Wednesday is set up day and there is no one at the gates so you could probably get by with coming and going on that day. For me that is my best day, I sell a lot to other vendors. But any day at Charlotte is good ! Saturday is usually really crowded especially inside. We have 4 spaces in the green field MG58.LG58 and will have a lot of parts.http://www.charlotte-autofair.com/

Swapmeets all depend on what you are looking for. I've made the trek to Charlotte the last 3 years, yes a 7 hour drive for me. Parts vendors outside of the track are numerous, definately more than inside the track. If you're looking for parts, figure on at least 2 days. I was looking for cars (done cars), and at least 400 to choose from. Extremely high prices.
