I've been home sick from work the last few days. Perfect time to finish my chop saw resto! Got it for $20 off of craigslist last month. Here's the original thread......................

Tore it down and it was pretty grungy and definitely well used.
Took a bunch of pictures so I could remember how it goes back together! Pulled the cover off the motor and noted the brushes were in great condition, as was the armature!
The clamping piece was missing from the vise. Here's a pic of what I'm talking about. It's the piece on top that swivels and drops down on the threaded rod so the vise can screw in and out. We've got one at work so it was a great reference piece!
You can't buy just the one piece, you gotta buy the whole vise assembly for $70, NOT!
Made a bracket from 3/16" steel and welded a 3/4" nut to it then drilled some holes and bolted it to the vise mount. Please don't laugh, it's been a while since I picked up a MIG!
Straightened some of the metal and did some cleaning, sanding and bead blasting.
The power cord was toast so I ordered a new one.
The wheel had seen better days as well, so I popped for one of those, too.
Used Rustoleum Carnival Red on the body, base and shroud along with some Krylon Satin and Gloss black and Alumablast silver for various other pieces. Spent about $30 on parts. Put it all back together today and now I have a great looking, solid performing, quality chop saw that'll probably outlast me, for about $50!
