The stronghold ones are better in my opinion,I heard Irwin ones are brittle.

I have that Lang set as well. They're fantastic (much more gentle than taps and dies with boogered threads), but that stupid flimsy case is an utter abomination. And yeah, it takes up an inordinate amount of space.

Maybe I should get motivated and make something out of a block or wood or whatever.

Not only does the ‘case’ **** that set is missing fairly common sizes found in the master kit. Lang did a real disservice to those who only want metric. Good deal for them though since they make money twice from people like me who foolishly buy the metric only set just to buy the master set later.

http://www.langtools.com/sku-971-48-pc-sae-and-metric-thread-restorer-kit/

They are very useful though and far less dangerous than using a tap for repair.

I love how everyone is buying skin wedges!

Mitutoyo 12" calipers 25% off from Zoro and Starrett 0-6" non-rotating depth mics barely used from eBay. Pozidriv #1-3, Some Snap-on and VIM triple squares to round out my sets, retaining ring pliers (cheap Milbar NOS from eBay and Knipex), a few drills and taps for a project, and a second set of cannon plug pliers (this set will be for dirty soft gripping, my main clean set is for actual cannon plugs).

I got one too. Worked great for popping the PCV cover and rocket arm block of the head of my bike. Great tool.

Me too! Along with some Powerbuilt Pro Tech goodies. Gonna start a new thread and do a review on the Powerbuilt Pro Tech stuff, been really impressed.

I weighed the opinions of GJ (who mostly strongly suggested buying a PRO level saw "Stihl MS260" even for light homeowner use) and the opinions of coworkers/friends who cut way more wood then I ever will (farmers, or heating homes) and purchased the Stihl MS250.

I had a tree service drop three mid sized (16-22" diameter) oaks in our yard, and instead of paying them to clean it up for an additional $800, I decided I could buy a nice saw and still have $400 in my pocket if I cleaned up the mess myself while providing firewood for camping. I only had 30 minutes to work with it yesterday, but so far I like it. No...it will not slice through a red oak like a hot knife through butter, but so far it has done a damn fine job.

The last NiCad battery on my 18v Dewalt drill/impact set finally gave up the ghost. Got this set at Lowe’s, for $249. Brushless, 2AH batteries. Hopefully I’ll get as many years outta this set as the last.

I have the same two drills at home and have been using them for quite a few months, I love them. Very ergo, much more so than the Ridgid Gen5X's that they replaced. I got the 4ah batteries off ebay and haven't looked back.

Just a few things. Picked up the SO Rethreading set. I have a lang kit at work...figured it's just easier to warranty through snap on, plus there was a nice promo on it.

As I own the Lang and SO kit now, I can confirm they are identical in everyday except warranty process and packaging.

Extended my t handle set to include a T8 for rebuilding 1/4" drive ratchets.

My dealer had a few of these in his storage. New old stock. Woohoo!

And lastly...I brought home the so truck...:bounce:

I loved it as soon as my **** touched it, which is not something I get to say too often. Very comfy, and very wide/stable. I've eaten **** twice on my HF creeper when the wheel gets stuck on something. Haven't figured out what exactly I plan on storing in it, but since I have a small garage, more storage is better!

PN and details for those interested.

Just got a new die grinder in the mail today. I currently have a 90deg Chicago Pneumatic (CP875) die grinder that has served me well and was planning on getting the straight version (CP872) from Chicago Pneumatic.
Before a pulled the trigger on an Amazon.com order, I figured I should check Craigslist/OfferUp/Etc.
Boy am I glad I did. I found a new/unused Dynabrade 0.7HP Die Grinder on Offer-Up for $50 shipped :shocking:. New-in-Box, these appear to sell for north of $400 online. I have no idea why this one was so cheap. I certainly have no need for this high-end of a die grinder, but it was the same $$ as I was going to spend on the Chicago Pneumatic version, so why not.

I had my doubts as to what would actually show up at my door.... But it showed up w/ all the original paperwork, the collett wrench and the protective cap in the air fitting port (just as described). It certainly appears to have never been used. I can't say it would be worth $400 but it is clearly very well made and you can feel that in its weight. I will hook it up tonight and see how she runs.

You will LOVE that grinder! I have a much older all metal one and it is still an animal. Also YOU **** for getting it for $50!

Followed a Cornwell truck the other day because it was playing the ice cream truck song. At least I thought I heard it. What I wanted was a new rack of 3/8" metric sockets, but at $200/rack it was more than I was willing to spend. But the tool truck guy/Santa Claus was very friendly and nice and didn't want to waste his time. Saw this bungeed to the roof and snagged it.

1/4" drive on one end, hex drive for screw driver bits ont eh other end. Each head swivels and locks in place, about 14" long, fine tooth mechanism, very solid. Haven't used it yet but it makes me smile and tastes like a strawberry shortcake ice cream pop.

Hey, is that People's Republic of China Craftsman or Taiwan Craftsman? it looks like a nice little kit. How smooth is that bit ratchet? How many teeth does it have? Thanks for posting:beer:

Picked this up at the local mom and pop tool store. (Weselltools in Bartlett TN)

I plan on using it as a tool and parts combo under the hood. I only put the 1/4 and 3/8 pegs so I can toss commonly used sockets for a job and the bolts.

Flea Market find

I'm not sure if I paid too much. Snap-on 3/8 extension kit, Snap-on pliers, Snap-on 18mm 12 point wrench, and Snap-on 13/16th wrench. Got everything for just over $60

Used the eBay $3 coupon to pick up this Enderes Tools 4 in 1 Robertson screwdriver. The company has a very interesting recent history from reading threads on GJ. I'm not usually a fan of this style of screwdriver, they're a bit bulky. I thought it was a nice way to have the less common sizes ready to go should I come across them.

Showing it next to the Klein 11 in 1 for comparison.
