Lots of ideas on this site, but you may have to hunt for them. Here's a couple photos I've saved over the years. (Shamelessly stolen from other members' posts!)

You could build or buy drawers, shelves, or make something that slides. My advice would be to find a uniform size container and stick with it. I made this mistake, buying whatever was on sale, etc, and now I have a mishmash of junk. :-(

Pinterest may be another good place to look for ideas.

I'd post some pics of the area(s) you want to populate. Hopefully, you'll get more responses. There are a lot of threads on GJ on storing small hardware.

And then there's the old trick of finding jars of the same size and screwing the lids under the shelf.

Yup, just go get a bunch of mason style jars with solid lids (rather than actual canning lids) and screw the lids into the under side of the cabinets or onto a board which you screw into the cabinets if you don't want to make too many holes.

This thread is only a few minutes old, but these always end up with baby food jars.

Of course, baby food doesn't come in jars any more.

The thing is, the last damn thing I want in my garage is a bunch of breakable glass jars.

So the same idea, except with clear plastic jars, would be pretty good. Maybe peanut butter containers?

I'm a fan of Talenti gelato containers, myself.

I'm a fan of lots of long narrow drawers that you can pull all the way out and take to where you're working. I made mine from 3/8" plywood about 4" tall x 4" wide x 24" long, and I think I have about 20 of them. Works great for all my screws, bolts and small hardware.

I like this idea, I might build something like this or try to find something in a metal drawer like this.

Jelly jars - specifically Smuckers. It was good enough for my dad and gran dad, still works. 99% of the storage is in drawers but a collection of screws is in the hanging jelly jars over the bench, easy and quick to access.

Even Kraft peanut containers now are not clear anymore, they are brown, the same color as the peanut butter. :)

I working on mounting 2 6-drawer Durham slide out parts storage boxes under a cabinet this month. They will fit in between two New Age cabinets mounted on the wall (off the floor). my plan is to make a L-bracket at the bottom of each new age cabinet to support the weight of the loaded drawers (rally heavy) and then bolt the Durham's to the sides and of the new age (drill and bolt). Also will probably run a few screws to hold tight to the workbench top. I'm fairly confident it will work well. best part is that two of the Durham's stacked on top of one another are only about 1/4" taller than the New Age Base Cabinets; so it should look pretty even.

The older guy that owned my house before me did this. What a great idea that I never would have thought of.

Though it took a long time, I learned that glass jars are not ideal in the garage also. Peanut butter jars are great, and I use them because I only need a few. Uline sells cases of plastic jars cheap enough that might be useful.

If i was doing jars I'd point my mouse at dollartree and select from there cases of squarish jars like these or something similiar, but they are not free, like empty pb jars!

The black and white cabinet in post #2 appears to be from a handset type cabinet. At least it isn't full of craft beads.

Jars mounted under the shelves like ItsNemo pictured in post #6 is an older idea that still works well. As others have said, you can use clear plastic jars if you don't want glass. You can get really creative with this idea and mount the jars on a hex drum that will turn or on a carousel much like a Lazy Susan.
