I've been lurking around here for the last few months, I'm closing on a new house this Friday and it includes a 30 x 50 shop out back. It needs a bit of work but its a 30 x 50 shop!

My two big complaints is the door looks like someone took a sawzall cut a hole and nailed up the overhead door. The other issue is there's a drop ceiling with roll insulation sitting on top of it. It looks like garbage, has sagging / moist panels and looks like it will get in the way of me eventually installing a lift.

For now I'm just going to luxuriate in the space and getting to finally park my truck and car indoors during the winter.

Congrats man!

I bought my place with a shop already built too...I've spent the better part of the last year slowly getting it up to par. Got a ways to go, but it's mine!

And greetings fellow Okie

Well I got moved in this weekend. The shop is wicked, I love having it and I felt pretty damn cool driving my car into my own shop. Other then getting things put up and organized the whole shop needs cleaning, there's mud, dirt and spider webs everywhere. There's birds nests, squirrels nests, critter nests, and hornet nests all over the place.

There's about a four inch gap between the overhead door and the top edge of the shop wall, not sure what the heck I'm going to do with that yet but it's obviously where everything is coming in and my heat is going out.

There's a little water getting in by the overhead door and the regular door. It's set up with a HVAC unit that currently doesn't work (and wouldn't make sense to run with the huge gaps where heating gets out)

My current big issue is the drive to the shop was originally gravel but I think I can count the number of pieces of gravel that is left. I need to get some fresh gravel there because I covered the rear of my 'vette with mud pulling it into the shop.

Congratulations, last night was a good night to park indoors here.

When I moved in I had dump truck loads of topsoil and gravel delivered for $150 each - just looked in the phone book.

We really need that famous Oklahoma wind to dry out all this mud!

I've got the same issue. Gravel is sparse at best and my GTO's sticky tires pick up all the remaining pieces and bring them into the shop or onto the road. Not to mention the dirt/mud.
