turned on the stereo, grabbed all the cardboard i had laying around, and started a fire, piled on the scrap lumber and let -r burn.

cut the grass, trimmed and cleaned up around the yard a little bit, watched the wife planting some new flowers around front, and slicing up a soaker hose into several pieces. :lol_hitti

gonna sit down a little later and start loading ammo for for USPSA open pistol, only 2800 more rounds to go...:shocking:

A friend gave me this lock pick set last year.

Came in handy today, since I had to pick the lock on my new to me 68 d200, in order to turn the cylinder to pull it out and install a new one...

Now I can crank the truck hopefully...

Pulled the motor out of a 2011 Yamaha YZ 125 split the cases and rebuilt the crankshaft that is in the freezer now for motor reassembly in the morning. Bike is going to be raced at a Loretta Lynn qualifier next weekend.

No pictures because My small space is an absolute disaster, parting out a 2005 Yamaha V Star 1100 and that big pig parts are scattered in every space in MY garage and it driving Me nuts just want the stuff gone !

Lifted the front of the project Tvan the rest of the way with the Torsion bars and "leveled" it, The PO had already cranked it about 1/2 way to get the roller skate wheels he put on to not scrape all the time. Ordered new rear axle bearings as not that I have quiet tires I can hear them on their last legs...

Sanded and painted the front body and bumper flat black. deciding what to do about the white panel surrounding the "TOYOTA"in the center of things. maybe go purplish/blue, just for contrast?
.
Got annoyed with both HD and Lowes getting more paint - HD was out :tard:
and Lowes had all spray paint hidden 2 isles away from all the other paint in the cleaning department. :tard:

Started up the mower, getting it ready. Changed oil and hydraulic filters. Took the gator blades off from leaf chopping duty. Greased and gassed up. Need to do some lawn rolling.

Placed my recent purchase of an Atlas/Craftsman power hacksaw on my work bench and started cleaning my area around my Atlas 618 lathe to finish setting it up.

Those came out nice Kay! I have a mag mount LED light on my DP. I need more of them, but I like your use of the switched mounts.

Mine has a much smaller bar-type head and that allows me to set it up just behind the quill.

I started out replacing some hacksaw blades then checking the battery on the VW and tossed a charger on it. Then I pulled the mortise lock from the barn door. Cleared out the spiders nests and whatnot, wire wheeled some corrosion and reassembled with some antisieze and a teflon dry lube. It's not perfect but a good sight better than it was.

Then I finally got around to mounting the little "better than nothing" WW vise I've been meaning to for a while. I had a small issue mounting it but nothing a few toothpicks and some Titebond couldn't handle.

As you can see I took the opportunity to do a little familiarization with my new cordless router. The only thing I thought I might not like about it was the power switch but it's really not bad, I'm rather pleased with it thus far. There may be some wood or MDF faces in the future for those vise jaws though.
Then I started some cleanup, vacuuming and checking boxes. I found a box of gasket material (AKA old tire tubes) I dumped all the mouse debris from them and tossed them in a smaller box. Then I uncovered a box, empty unfortunately.

I cant find any markings, logos or even the remains of anything on it as yet but apart from the bottom being rusty it's in pretty decent shape. I'll have to decide whether to try refinishing it or not.

Thanks! They were done on the cheap. HF mag mounts with the coupon, switches out of the cheap bin at AssoZone, the boxes are old timey surface mount phone jacks, machined the columns on the HF lathe/mill, gutted the complex controller boards in the original light bases for the 5v jack and the driver parts. And the lights are $12 specials at BJ's. All told, I made 6 variants, some independently switched, some run off the tool, dependent on the task.

I changed oil in my 50 year old rototiller. While the oil was draining modified the adjustable wheel support so it will stay locked for transport. A little shot of ether for the first start in two years and the old digger was off tearing up the garden. I have a 3 liter jug of HONDA synthetic 15/40 and this is what the old Briggs got. I got this ole' rototiller for $100.

Worked on a few computers. I’ve been flipping PCs on Craigslist/ebay lately. Either buying the right computers cheap enough, or even non function, has turned out to be a decent money maker on the side. I like tinkering with them anyways. These 2 are getting more ram, SSDs added, and fresh installs of windows 10.

Spent the day doing some Much needed spring cleaning. Moved into the louse last fall and I didn’t have time to slowly move and organize as I went. I didn’t take any before pics but I’m much happier. I plan to take the peg board down and paint at some point. But this was a start!

Replaced the ignition coil on my HD Sportster and it fired right up so that problem is solved. Gave it a bath and went out for a short ride. At the other end of the two wheel scale I also got the Yamaha QT50 scooter running and made sure it would go down the road. Slowly getting all the summer toys out of hibernation and ready to use.

Last fall, I started to re-power this Craigslist yard vac ($100) that blew its engine. But winter arrived before all the parts did, so it got shoved in the shed for the winter. Spring is here, the snow is letting up, so it’s time to clean up the yard.

f9f9c58b2be6991c757127ddfbfc493d.jpg

HF Predator engine replacing the dead Tecumseh. Needed a shaft sleeve to adapt the output shaft to the vacuum wheel.

Added a generic throttle lever and cable from eBay. Adapted a mountain bike brake lever with parking brake button to control the engine brake. Had to make a cable ferrule to hold the housing, and a pinch bolt to attach the cable.

Still needs oil and gas, but it’s too late at night to be starting it up, so that’ll probably be Saturday.

It's ridiculous as small as my yard is but I need to find myself one of these as well. I have so many leaves and did not realize it until spring came along and then I went to rake them up and realized there was so much coverage it's killing my grass :(

Busy weekend despite the holidays. Got 2 different power wheels running for my kid that i garbage picked. Repainted a balance bike from hotpink to matte black...waiting on some decals to arrive from France, again garbage picked.
Then visited a friends shop and helped out on assembling a food truck he is setting up. But spent more time drinking and eye balling a few of his toys he neglects439b4df3ad18bceb6c61e782c8a1ea52.jpg8f687b7577d6aab4bab2d5b89fb3efb9.jpged76d891d0b207543df8f02543f9be79.jpgf6853b517052770f19098fc580520ef0.jpg5ca0610c3b75617c9e42f022482d4ff2.jpga2116c57a878dfa2e9e1aad63c1d3201.jpga8dc36985086b143fda7e0f1e221c6db.jpg

I’ve got a H, hasn’t run in about 5 years, need to work on the magneto. Maybe put a distributor on it. That Ford is a 53 model, the only year it was made.

This one is an experiment for me. Not a big yard, but big old trees.

I have a ginkgo, 50-60’ tall, that drops all of its flat fan shaped leaves in a 24 hour period. They pile 8-12” deep. A backpack leaf blower will move them about 6” then the pile is too deep and won’t move.

I also have a locust. Similar size. Drops seed pods the size of a banana. Between these two, “raking” my yard in the fall means getting a grain shovel and my truck, and hauling out 15-20 loads. That was when the city had free yard waste dumpsters. Those were abused by idiots, and have been taken away.

Now it’s curb pickup only. I’m hoping not to have to shovel. If this will pick up the debris, I can roll it out to the curb and dump it. It worked well enough last fall, before the engine died, that I’m hopeful for this fall.

If it doesn’t work out, I’m only in to it for about $250, and it’ll sell easily on Craigslist.

We had an old H on the farm growing up. Cut my teeth on that tractor. My brother now has it in his rock garden in front of his house. We had the wide axle attachment for the steer axle as well that we put on for a few of the crops.

Cool seeing it.

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Nice one, man. I like that you put it on casters.
Gotta be on wheels lol! Can't stand dragging things around, this apartment is also very temporary so when it comes time to move I can wrap it up with plastic and wheel it away.

Best part is most of the supplies were free, I work at a large hardware store.

I've got about 16$ in lumber but that's it

Won’t be much in my folks garage.

Really starting to move what’s left over at my folks place. As I negotiated terms to be able to leave my quad and soon to be built 5x8 trailer there during winter as to keep the snow off it except for when we do our winter quad trips.

..........On the other hand, I tried to bend hangers recently to model brake lines before I bend the real tubes and the hangers were surprisingly uncooperative. .............

Coat hangers are "uncooperative" as you found out since they're so springy. Annealed rebar tie wire works much better - very little spring to it, easy to form with your fingers. Available at your local home improvement store - a lifetime's worth (300-400 feet) for <$10.

Tried to mount the new to me John Deere 30 hydraulic tiller on my nd 430 garden tractor. Well as usual gotta get some more long ago obsolete parts to make it work.
Perhaps next year.

Yesterday I got this little vise cleaned up and ready to go. Ya, the nuts and washers aren't correct, but I'll remedy that next time I go to the hardware store.

It's technically for a Mustang, but it's pretty close. It's a complete kit. Rack and pinion, disc brakes, coilovers and boxing plates.

Pretty easy install so far.

Next is narrowing the 8.8 rear diff I have for it.
