No. You need a HIGH lift kit.

That kit will Lower your door opening height. In other words that would be going the wrong way.

Yeah, I think gnpenning is correct. The low clearance kit is used when an existing ceiling is too low to accomodate a standard O/H garage rail system. Won't help with getting MORE height clearance.

Last summer I had to use a low clearance kit on a new Haas o/h door when I replaced the old 7'+" high door with a new 8' high door. The ceiling was too low to accommodate the standard rail system.

These pics don't show the rail system but first pic is the original 7'+ swinging doors, second pic is opening with original header removed, and second is with new taller door in place.

A picture and some dimensions would help with our suggestions.

Daves69 link shows what most folks here call a high lift.

If you want to get the track type opener out of the way you need to go to a jack shaft type opener. Having said that, I have mounted a regular screw type opener just outside of the door track. The ceiling was so close that the door would just scrape the drywall when coming up. There was never an opener in that garage because of that. There was zero space for the screw track. The door was perfectly balanced and I could raise it with 2 fingers. It was 8 x 8 and solid with siding on the outside so it was heavy. Anyhow, it worked.
