Who made this Craftsman angle grinder?

I just picked up this well-used Craftsman angle grinder. I'm going to open it up to assess the condition, but in the meantime I'd like to hear any guesses as to who the original manufacturer might have been. Says "Made in Japan" but that's all I got.

So I've never owned let alone disassembled an angle grinder before. I can't seem to remove the flange or separate the gear housing from the body of the unit. Any tips would be appreciated.

It works, albeit reluctantly, because it's loaded up with whatever **** the previous owner was sanding. I only paid $8, so I'm fine with taking a chance in order to disassemble, clean and regrease.

the flange is probably a bit of a press fit, a good whack?
you probably have to remove the arbor and perhaps a pin or clip on the inside to get that housing to separate from the body

Thanks. The flange has a slight bit of play, in that I can very slightly lift one side at a time, but never both even if I pull straight. That said, I'm probably not pulling it perfectly straight and with enough force.

I am curious who made it for Skil/Bosch. Makita or Hitachi seem like good candidates.

I was finally able to open up the gear housing. There was lots of grease packed in there, just not on the gears themselves. Spread some where needed and closed it back up.

Now it's bugging me that this doesn't have a guard. I can pick up a generic handle that will fit, but the Skil/Craftsman original guard is obsolete. Yeah, I know I can run it without. Still would like to have the option of using it most of the time and only removing for times when I need the access Oh well, this is the risk of buying old used tools.

Thanks. Never heard of Elu, but seems Dewalt bought them. So I guess it's safe to say is was produced by Black & Decker or one of their subsidiaries
I believe Elu was Swiss. They made routers marketed by Dewalt. Eventually B&D bought the company.

Resurrecting this post because I picked up a 9410 grinder locally under the Skil Professional label. Tried to do a little research on it, but this thread was about all I could find, not even a link to an owners manual.

Also made in Japan, and looks identical to the Skil 9511 & 9611, and seems very similar to the older Makita 9557 (and other similar models); the motor housing looks the same, so was probably the same design and made by Makita (or whoever was making it for them). Hope it's built like a tank and performs like the old Makita's too, but at least it's not made in China like all the new stuff
