That selector shape on the 1/2"er has an almost New Britain look to it. Hmmm.

Can't say I'm an Armstrong fan but those flex heads look freaking nice!
Do you find that grease/dirt interferes with the flex lock?

My vehicles thankfully are pretty clean and I wipe them down after use. Not sure how well they would work in a dirty environment.

I’ve been wanting to join in here. Finally took the time to gather up some siblings for a photo op. Here’s the plomb empire stuff.

Plomb quadruple that I’m dying to turn into a quintuple. Just need a big Bertha.


Proto. These are the main ratchets I use. They live in my regular tool box.


P&C open gear ratchets. Does anyone know if they made a 1/4” version of the top two? Never seen one.

I love the way the handle is satin but the flat part is not. I am going to take advantage of the way they achieved that (see the rough machine finish marks?) to attend to the annoying owner's mark (thanks, "BOB") just to the left of the part number on the 3/8-inch drive ratchet. Coarse file, fine file, a worn steel brush, followed by hard rubbing with steel wool for blending. Blending is key.

It's funny, though, because the Fors pattern are definitely love 'em or hate 'em ratchets, with as many detractors as fans. I think some people think of them as having lost New Britain the Craftsman =V= era sweepstakes. I think they're one of the sharpest looking ratchets around.

I forgot I had a pic of a triple play of Duro sealed ratchets tucked away. Female reversible and non-reversible styles.
I've been lucky enough to find drive plugs/adaptors so all of them are usable.
