Mini Split Dry Mode

My mini split offers a DRY MODE. I just washed my car in the garage today and want to get the humidity out.

Indoor temp is 67F. Outdoor temp is close to that maybe 70F.

The user manual doesn't give much detail other than "select dry mode and desired temperature".

So while in DRY MODE if I have the temp set to say 70F and indoor temp is 65F, will it still **** moisture out of the air and vice versa?

Mine I believe id not temperature affected. Just keeps dehumidifying till you turn it off.

Dry mode is basically A/C with a low fan speed, nothing more.

If IDT is 65 and setpoint is 70 it should not run.

That’s what I was wondering about. So the set point has to be lower than room temp for it to dehumidify?

My old LG will run in dry .. basically forever. With the compressor running to keep the coil cold and the fan on the lowest setting. My Mitsubishi does not have the setting ... and does not need it ....maybe because of the larger coil?

67 is already on the cold side ... but I'm sure it will work ... but it has to cool it even more.

That's what my Friedrich and LG do. Dry mode just runs the compressor on full power with the fan on low (normally in cool mode, the compressor slows down when the fan is on low). This combination increases condensation at the coil, drying the air, but it also cools the space.

I've always wondered if it would alternate kicking the heat on to offset cooling the room...
