Hey all,
My NAPA sales rep dropped off a tool flyer today, they are doing a "BIG Sales event", and I noticed Carlyle ratchets on sale... I know a bunch of you like these, so here's the rundown:

P100 soft handle swivel ratchet $22.99, $26.99, and $32.99 (1/4-3/8-1/2)
1/2" quick release long handle teardrop ratchet $13.99
quick release teardrop ratchet $8.99, $9.99, and $11.99 (1/4-3/8-1/2)
P90 3/8" long soft handle $14.99

The flyer is not dated, but my local store is offering the sale prices effective 5/23/19. Those of you who might be interested should check and see if your local NAPA is participating, and what their dates are! There's a lot of other deals in the flyer, and it appears to be a national flyer, not just something the local store whipped up. Worth a look!

parts guy could you please give me a link to that special sale you are talking about because...this is what will happen to me when I walk into the napa store.

"Woody could you show me those special sales on your p100 ratchets".
"Napa arts guy we got the weekly sale, the monthly sale, the 3 month sale flyer, the daily sales, which one you talking about"?
"Woody you know the one with the p100 ratchets on sale".

And around and around we go...

Thanks OP. I'm going to check with my store in a day or two but I'll definitely be in there on the 23rd!

Those are crazy prices

I will post pics this evening, as I am away from the flyer at the moment.
Yes, I believe this is in-store only. Our local store is getting a visit from the NAPA tool and equipment truck on the 23rd to kick off the event, but I was told the offer runs until their stock is depleted. Dates may vary from my local store, that's why I recommended checking with your locals to confirm.

My napa guy hands me every flier he gets because he knows I'm an impulse tool buyer and he hasn't said anything to me yet. I'll ask him tomorrow but I'm guessing it might be local.

just looked at NAPA online and the ratchets mentioned above in the tool flyer under current promotions range from $56-$82....prices above would be like stealing...

I just got back from my local Napa and just as I suspected, they no nothing about this. All he could do was look up the prices in the computer which were still regular price.

Sorry, I completely forgot about this thread last week. Here are pics of the flyer cover for reference, as well as the pages for the ratchets.

I wonder if they changed suppliers or something and are doing an inventory dump?

Is that stuff currently Taiwan?

Everything should be, but they're all the old 60(?) tooth models other than the single pro90 listed and the few roto ratchets, at these prices probably a great buy but the old ratchets are meh at best. The pro90 however....OP could buy 100 of them and resell them here easily :D I'd take one!

I would have a really hard time not buying all three roto ratchets and that 1/4" P90... on sale, they all cost at least twice that much.

On the other hand, that screwdriver set was $4.00 cheaper a month or two ago.

I'd especially love to have the 1/2 roto ratchet. Stopped at my local store yesterday, and like many of you, they knew nothing about it.

The flyer looks to be for a tent or parking lot sale. I think these are an individual store option kinda thing. The Mesquite store has one every spring but even the employees never know when until it happens. The store closest to me does not participate, however.

After posting this teaser I think OP has a duty to enable our Carlyle tool addiction :) Shoot with those prices shipping from NY to CA doesn't seem so bad after all.

Roto 3/8th and 3/8th long soft handle please.

The Napa near work is a corporate store, I hope they participate. I guess I'll know tomorrow.

I bought the screwdriver set as part of the Q1 deals. Normal price is over $70. They are the best screwdrivers I own.

Anybody had any luck with the sale? Looks like I'm not going to be able to make it to my NAPA today, unfortunately.

Ok I talked to Mr. Napa himself, well an old geezer like me and he said "NEVER HEARD OF ANY TENT SALE EVER"' and it must be a "Hoax". But then he thought about it some more after I showed him a copy of the op's flyer and he said "maybe just maybe some Family owned Napa somewhere in the US might be holding this special sale"...

So there you go, op if indeed there is a sale buy up everything and run for the hills asap.

I haven't caught it the last couple years but I definitely purchased tools at great prices under a tent top in the parking lot of the Mesquite store several times. It was usually in early May, though, if I recall. And I assume it's a corporate store. It's a storefront in a distribution warehouse. Well, used to be. Storefront is still there but the distribution center is empty. I'll try to drive by this weekend but it's kinda outta my way anymore.

That's the truck sale, we had it about 2 weeks ago. Local owner even has a food truck come for free lunch.
The Fall sale was meh, I got a bunch of stuff from that flyer this time around though. My store may even still be honoring prices as they had the flyers on the counter today. That long handled ratchet is STEAL at that price!

Well, my local had the sale today (not a hoax). NAPA Tool & Equipment semi arrived in the parking lot this morning, they unloaded a bunch of tools and equipment for display, as well as a race car simulator (K&N series #16 NAPA Camry). They only had about a dozen of those Carlyle ratchets available, and a small supply of the other advertised items. Kind of a letdown. They also didn't have ANY of the long 1/2" ratchet. I bought an induction coil heater (they only had two available), and some shop towels, then went back to work.
Thanks to toolmutt and Buckgnarly for verifying the existence of these sales outside of my area!

Like I said my local guy never heard of tool tent napa sales mind you this is from my area of central "AHIA". So I would only venture too say that it must be different for other parts of the country...

Again he did say it must have been something like local family run places doing these type of sales nothing like that here in central ahia.

This is what we had with the addition of free hotdogs, coffee and promo items bottle openers stickers etc. We also had better availability of sale items and I was told if they were out of anything it could be ordered in the store for the flyer price.
