So this has been in the works for a very long time. Fired one builder that flaked on me, then finally got started during some of the wettest weather here in the South East. But we are finally starting to make progress so I thought I would put up some pics. House and shop right next to each other. 2400 square foot house and 3000 square foot shop (60X40 and 60X50 respectively). The main purpose of the shop is to support my road racing habit. I've been doing it out of friends shops and my garage for a while and hate having to do that so am finally building my own.

Slabs got poured December 6, 2018 but then due to the foul weather we didn't go any further until February 25.

I haven't ever seen a roof system quite like this before, but it lets the shop have a clear span for the whole 50' which is really nice.

A couple of more pics. They are starting to get the roof and sheathing up. House to the left and shop to the right. Connected with 20' covered area between.

Not a ton of progress to see lately. They have spent most of the time on the house part lately. But still some progress on the shop so here is a photo and a short video walking into it. Sorry for the crappy quality.

Been a little while since I put in any updates, but progress has been made. Lifts are installed and Hellfire coating is on the floors.

Very impressive work! The floors look great. Had you seen the material in use before? First I've heard of it. Post some shots as you fill it up!

I saw the floor coating on here and read about it on here. I can vouch for its chemical resistance because gasoline, acetone, paint thinner, and xylene have all failed to get it off my hands.:lol_hitti

Lucid Moments Speed Shop,(please don't take this wrong. I'm a racer, too) is somewhat of an oxymoron, isn't it. This looks like an ideal situation for someone with your interests! Steel trusses look to be a neat solution for both span and overhead space. Subscribed( and waiting to see what you put into the "box"!)

It's all good. Lucid Moments is because I only have them sometimes. Either when I am messing around with a car or driving one. It is all the rest of the time that is insanity.:headscrat

Nice, I do like the fact the shop is bigger than the house. You definitely have your priorities straight, LOL. Keep up the good work.
