Wow, JoCo, that lamp is cool. Looks like the base was assembled from spare parts from Robbie the Robot!
Yeah that base is cool. Cast iron and weighs a ton. I'd been looking for some kind of gooseneck lamp for that particular bench that I can move out of the way when I need the out feed room for the saw. This one fits the bill perfectly.
I buy boxes like that with high quality tools all the time. When people price them like that I am almost forced to buy it. I haven't bought a bad box of tools yet. Nice find.Picked this up for $20. Some Mac and some proto. A lot of other USA stuff too....

Taking somewhat of the same approach, I bought this vintage Snap-on hand box today. Has some interesting lettering on the lid. And was full of rusty old tools. More on those in a bit.
At another stop bought this 1972 KRA-280 in good shape, but painted green. Same stop also grabbed these Gregorian solid copper mugs.
Now onto rusty tools: there are a few interesting pieces. Highlights would be the wrenches, particularly the heavy S-wrench marked Special, 360 or 36D (can't tell), a forged in B in a triangle. Billings and Spencer?
Gidge, How wide are the jaws?
Its a Colton patent vise:

Any markings on the Saw? how long a blade?
Well done, BFBob!Can I brag a little?
She: I'm gonna donate this to the thrift shop.
Me: It's worth a little, let me sell it on fleaBay.
She: I dunno- it's pretty old.
Me: Spotting scopes haven't changed much in a century - should still be worh a few bux.
She: Well, OK.
Me: I sold it for $90 plus shipping.
She: I've got this trimmer I don't use any more ....
Sorry gearhead, but you got ripped off. I'll give ya a quarter for it.

I got my first red/gray chest over the weekend. Seller wanted $17 I got him down to $15. From what I learned on the other thread it's a 60-65 era box. I'm pretty happy.
Outlaw : Thanks for the patent information !
The jaws on the vise are 1.625" and the vise fully extended is 2.5" --- I'm thinking maybe it's a jeweler's vise ?
The saw says SIMONDS on one side and 8 IN on the other (although the actual measurement of the blade is 8.625").
Picked up an articulated floor lamp at a flea today for 25 bucks. The data plate is gone. The articulation joints scream Dazor but I've never seen a Dazor base like this. Any lamp experts out there? It's incandescent, not fluorescent. Other picks were a tankless Craftsman air compressor that's filthy but in good working order, a Long C abrasive disc in original packaging and a set of masonry bits in a nifty wooden box.

Yeah, two in a row, You ****! I never see the darn things in the wild.
The articulated portion does scream Dazor and I have never seen a base like that either. I have the same articulated lamp with a screw on base mounted on my grinder cart. A led flood light and your good to go.
There were several manufacturers of these sorts of lamps and they either used common parts or a lot of Franken-Dazor-Luxo work has occurred over the years. I'm in the 9-10 range on articulated lamps and magnifiers.
Cheers
Jim
What logo is on the pieces? Long C or Heritage era =CRAFTSMAN=? .

Yeah, I was standing next to him when he picked it up, I never even saw it!Prov you **** again, and still! Great find on the RHFT Flex!
