Finally back from the filthiest, most **** (literally) filled "barn" I've ever been in. Turned out to be a farm work shop covered everywhere with 'stuff' from rats, mice, raccoons and bats. The actual seller was the grandson (acting on behalf of the grandfather) who had a huge case of sellers remorse. He didn't want to sell anything and has vision of returning the family farm to its former glory.
Inside was tons of old manual and electrically powered drills, saws, grinders, etc all covered in rust and stuff. After a solid hour of "no, I just can't sell that" finally broke through on the Columbian Woodworking vise that actually fell to the floor with part of the bench attached when I tried to turn the handle (see pic). In the end brought home a Wilton Shop King, a Luther clamp-on (2 1/2" jaws), a Lakeside swivel (3 1/2") that I pulled from a mouse stuff pile and the mystery vise (congrats to
Fierljeppen) a Hollands with 5" jaws! The Hollands is in great shape and spins easily but when you look at the pic it looks more like a 46 or 48?? Sure that I missed some things and could have used another pair of eyes on this trip. Total cost of this adventure $80 and a lot of shower water. Left with an open invite to come again, so we'll see
