Quinn screwdrivers at HF

Who's tried the Quinn screwdrivers?

I bought a two-pack, #2 Phillips and 1/4" slotted. It was an impulse purchase just to try them out, because they were only $3.49. Not like I need more screwdrivers, but hey, $3.49.

I've only used the Phillips once so far, but it seemed pretty good. Nice comfortable handle with a flared oval profile toward the middle. Easy to get a good grip on.

I don't know how long they'll hold up, but for that price they're disposable anyway.

Any other opinions?

I really like them. I've used the flathead as a chisel and prybar with a hammer and it's held up great.

Of course it turns screws pretty well too.

I don't know that I'd bother.

I bought two of the 10 dollar sets and they've been fantastic.

I looked at the new line but I doubt they would do anything the 10 buck set won't.

I'm not seeing the value. That's $1.75 per screwdriver. Fleetfarm's $8.99 German-made Felo 5-piece set is $1.80 per screwdriver... even less with a 10% or 15% off coupon. Those are their budget drivers but they have the same warranty as the more expensive Felo drivers. Most of my Wiha drivers have been $3-4 each which is not much more money.

Hm, you're right. I should check those out.

The Quinn have a rubber overmold, and magnetic tips, but still China.

the $3.50 one at HF is pretty good if you just needed those two.. grips the screw pretty well, I think the only complain I have is that the shank is square, might not fit some round deep holes , but otoh, it will allow you to use a vise grip or something to apply more force... I got it for $1.99 when it was on sale... the $25 set is not worth it... the Homedepot Husky one is better as a set, I have 3x of those sets....

The 9.99 set of Pittsburg pro screwdrivers are good, I have had a set for years and they hold up great. 8 screwdrivers for 9.99

I got the two piece set and have been using them. I really like them. I am most impressed by the grips. Jumbo pack is on my wish list.

I keep them in my car. I'm going to use them for whatever task I need them for at the moment and if they break they break. I bet you've never tapped a bolt into place with a wrench or screwdriver handle either, right?

No, I meant I didn't know if you actually had them, or you were humorously expressing the opinion that HF drivers are mainly suited for use as pry bars.

My friend has the Quinn set and uses them daily in his shop. I don’t know whether he likes them or not. For the price, I guess you can’t go wrong. The only thing I dislike about the set is that it doesn’t have stubby’s. I use stubby’s more than I would the tiny Phillips #0 and 1/8 flat head. That was a deal breaker.

I have the $9.99 Pittsburgh Pro set and have been nothing but happy with their performance. I use them daily and they have held up perfectly fine. I can't say enough good things about them to the other techs in the shop.

The thing about the Quinn that I didn't like was the square shank as opposed to round. I can't do that style.

I've read some good reviews on them and I've been checking them out at my HF here. So, I'll probably grab some myself and put 'em in my road kit. You can never have too many screwdrivers. I'm really liking how HF is stepping up their game.

I picked up the two piece Quinn set when they first came out a few months ago. I think the coupon price was like $1.99 or $2.50 for the pair back then. They seem pretty strong. The handle shape fits my hand well and the two flat sides prevents it from rolling. Perhaps as the Quinn line expands, they'll add open stock so, you can pick the sizes you use most.The anti slip handle surfaces are a plus. I really can't complain about them at the low purchase price.

I replaced an exterior door today and decided to just use the Quinn drivers to see how I liked them. They worked fine until I had to drive a Phillips screw into a recessed hole while setting a deadbolt. Then the square shaft became a problem. Other than that they were great.
