nigh impossible unless you bury the stout wire fence deep around the garden. then tall enough they can climb over it and wire space so they can not crawl through it. Industrious critters. Then you still have to deal with skunks, possum and so on.
.223 works much better or get a rowdy dog.

I have done that but if you use the poison make sure you bury them, cause if that stuff shows up in an eagle or some other beloved animal they will take it off the market.
Where did you get the charger and the insulators?Electric fence works fine. Been doing it around mom's garden for probably 10 years. Didn't need to when there was a dog around but now nobody lives at that place. ***** like sweet corn as much as I do.
Two strands is what I've always done. One 4-5 inches off the ground and the second is 6-8 above that. T posts and insulators works fine. No need to engineer something out of pvc/ect.
